I really do not care for his comments on Afghanistan, he hasn't read the Lonely Planet Guide to Afghanistan, he may not have Khaled Hussaini's book to polish up his knowledge. He is just an alternative politician for the paks. Good for them. He is showing the people how corrupt they are, otherwise he is harmless to you masculine pashtun pakhtun out their in the wild wild west. He does not have the pathetic swagger of the pak army general nor does he the arrogance and ego of the pak bhuto zodari types. He is harmless style icon forth young boys, was a candy for the girls a decade ago, he is a saviour for the suffering class of the disenfranchised youth.

Whether he clasps his hands on his chest, on his belly button, below it, or lets em hang on the sides, circling it is just a way of promoting one's agenda. May be no one taught him? May be the camera caught him adjusting his . . . Azarband? Who know? Who cares?

He is charting his way in Politics having discovered how his hosts, the British disliked paks. With this humility he went to sort the image problem as well as clean the nation's act, he felt emboldened for he had a fan base. On the way he discovered that not only he is he a niazi, he is a pathan, that figure in pak psyche is awsome, the tall strong masculine warrior, naswar in the mouth, armed with an AK an the Quran, how noble, how romantic. He wrote a few paragraphs in book that looked like a 70s photo album, he called it 'The Warrior Race'. He is just a DIY politician who thinks he can change the lot of the paks - i doubt it highly but he is good for one thing for sure, outing corruption in pakolitics.

I am concerned is how a muslim is being treated and judged by other Muslims.
I cant figure out why would one want to display khan saeb's dirty laundry.

Is it not enough how the non-muslim treat us?
i posted that picture as a joke and to point out that i dont deem him as a grand mufti.

i dont care about his personal life or his past neither am i from pakistan or in pakistan to care to vote for him.
what i do care about is that he condemns drone attacks on pashtuns in waziristan and elders and condemns invasion of Afghanistan.

Is he corrupt? I thought his platform is anti-corruption.
Is he reformed, then what of his past. I find bikini clad ex-wife thing unnecessary. You may have right to out hypocrisy, but why? He isn't a threat.

For sure you may be right that he is light entertainment, an intro piece before the big players manipulate the country and get at the foreign aid they country receives.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere, away from the bikini shots and how to hold hands. Its a different issue of his views of FATA.

imran says that the war in afg in jihad but the one in pakistan is not, typical isi mouthpiece. the paki establishment always supports jihad as long as its not on its own soil.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

'Arrest Imran Khan over ‘war in Afghan is Jihad’ remark'

                      Last Updated: Saturday, October 13, 2012, 15:30

Islamabad: The Afghan government has strongly condemned Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for calling the ongoing war in Afghanistan against foreign troops ‘jihad.’

“This is clear interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs,” Farhad Azimi, deputy secretary of the Afghan parliament, said.

“We urge the Pakistani government to arrest people who support the Taliban,” he added.

According to the Express Tribune, Azimi said Afghan President Hamid Karzai would meet members of parliament in a regular session today to discuss the issue.

He is likely to issue some directions in this regard, he said.

The paper also quoted veteran journalist and political analyst Fahim Dashti as saying that this is not the first time Imran has given such a ‘negative’ statement about Afghanistan.

“It is a political slogan through which Khan wants to gain more support. Clearly this is neither fair nor logical,” Dashti said.

Dashti said that those who consider terrorism a threat would never support Khan in this stance, adding “even if they are supporting him, he will lose them slowly.”

Pakistani politician's comments at hospital that treated shooting victim Malala Yousafzai outrage Afghanistan's government

Imran Khan says Taliban's 'holy war' in Afghanistan is justified by Islamic law

Pakistani politician's comments at hospital that treated shooting victim Malala Yousafzai outrage Afghanistan's government

Afghanistan's government has lashed out at Imran Khan after the former Pakistan cricket star, now a politician, said the Taliban were fighting a "holy war" in the country that was justified by Islamic law.
Speaking after visiting a hospital in Peshawar where Malala Yousafzai – the 14-year-old activist shot in the head by the Taliban for supporting girls' education – was treated last week, Khan told reporters that insurgents in Afghanistan were fighting a "jihad". Citing a verse from the Qur'an, he said: "It is very clear that whoever is fighting for their freedom is fighting a jihad …
"The people who are fighting in Afghanistan against the foreign occupation are fighting a jihad," he added, according to a
Afghan politicians have reacted with disbelief, with one parliamentarian suggesting Khan should be arrested. The Ulema Council, a grouping of senior clerics, declared his comments "unislamic".
A Kabul foreign ministry spokesman said Khan was "either profoundly and dangerously ignorant about the reality in Afghanistan, or he has ill will against the Afghan people.
"Our children are killed on daily basis, civilians killed and our schools, hospitals and infrastructure attacked on a daily basis. To call any of that jihad is profoundly wrong and misguided."
Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, has written to all of Pakistan's political leaders, including Khan, saying: "We must ask why we have been unable to counter the terrorism that is attacking our people, and the promise of a better future for our children."
Khan has also courted criticism by saying he will not publicly name the Taliban while criticising the men who attempted to kill Malala, because he feared it would put his party's supporters at risk.
The row with Kabul highlights the awkward political situation Khan has found himself in recent days. He has long blamed the rise of the Taliban in the country on the US, saying its military operations in Afghanistan and the CIA drone strikes in Pakistan's tribal belt are responsible for the upsurge in militancy.
But his populist position has been challenged by the almost unprecedented public anger against the Pakistani Taliban triggered by the attempt to kill Malala as she sat in a van with her classmates in Swat last Tuesday.
While many observers fear the mood of national outrage will ultimately change little, the country's media continues to cover the saga intensively while the country's powerful military chief called on the nation to "unite and stand up to fight" against extremism.
The foreign minister has even suggested the attack might be a turning point for a country that has long struggled to muster support for a decisive push against militants. On Sunday, tens of thousands of people attended a rally in Karachi in support of Malala, organised by the Muttahida Qaumi movement, the dominant political party in the southern city.
Malala is unconscious and in intensive care in a military hospital in the garrison city of Rawalpindi. A military spokesman said her condition was improving and that no decision had been made as to whether she should be sent overseas, despite an offer from the United Arab Emirates to supply an air ambulance.
Local media continued to focus on her condition despite government warnings that the Pakistani Taliban, apparently angered by criticism of the attack on Malala, had ordered attacks on journalists.

who cares if he wears lipstick, nail polish, or dances to Selena Gomez before he sleeps. I mean LOL really ? Is he not allowed to talk or express his opinion?

He wants to end Pakistan support with NATO supplies for NATOs war in Afghanistan, and end Pak war in FATA, and thats why he is being criticized.

You are a liar, and you support Pakistan because Pakistan supports the NATO war, and makes money out of it too like your failed hero Karzai.

Pakistan also supports drone attacks. You are wrong on that too.

Well said. Talk about completely forgetting that it was Pakistan who assisted the US in invading Afghanistan. Rather than criticizing a nation that is world renowned for exporting it's IT(International terrorism[Pakistan]) services he chose to justify Jihad on a war-torn nation.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
