    [QUOTE=Catya Sher;648270]
Compare with the response in America to that dreadful "Hurricane Katrina" - clearly a judgment
    by God.

so, was the drought in afghanistan, that effected millions, also a judgement by god?

      Also Friend's first one

I am shocked at what has happened to this TORamana.
Since I have been here, he turned into a TORRENT of EVIL.
He NEVER NEVER swore swear like that !

Maybe some even more radical pro-Westerner has
      appropriated his original username??!

As for me, I am taking out my picture of Khomeini and
      dusting it off today.

I always recall his birthday [May 17] each year, though I dont pay
attention to the day he died for some reason.

A remarkable figure and one who deserves more attention from
serious students of politics and nation-building.

I liked the Shah, too, but I think it was God's Plan to have the Shah

modernize Iran, then bring them back to religion with Khomeini.
do you like hitler as well?

you could also ask if we would need a ghadaffi , a saddam , a stalin , a hitler a mousollini , a ho chi min or fidel castro ,a tito or mao ???

if it comes to the point of leadership and governance , then yes we need a charismatic strong ,fearless , political educated figure who is upright and honest in his intentions as in his acts and smart enough not only to survive but to play the game , but all of those called persons had a special trait and that was their independence and their will to impose their vision and their will upon life and society.

unfourtently , in the last decade , we had no one like this instead we had ,people like ,karzai , hekmatyar ,ismael khan, rabani , massoud , mullah omar, amin ,karmal ,najib ,dependent (foreing agents ), only concernd about their own advantages , limited in their point of view , lacking visions , lacking will , no concepts of governance just in short , TANG NAZARA .

the current time is perfect for a saviour , the people are hungry , the difference between poor and rich is greater then it was during the time of our parents , the people and the nation is humiliated on a daily base , the country is robbed and plunderd ....

but there is a major problem , and that is the lack of education .

alot of people took adavantage of this also in the past , and used the simple and pure naivity of the people for their own agendas , and they still do it .

under the name of islamic brother hood , and islam , so many people are making their own business and looking for their own advantage that you ask yourself what does religion has got to do with politics and especially certain topics ..

but kohmeni , was also a cold blooded politician , after he took over power , he sent alot of people into jails , kicked them out or killed them .

people who could be future enemies or delinquents and a threat to his regime !!!!

he justified and legitimised his goverment by religion , and every one complaining about it or having a different point of view , would directly considerd against shia islam and its implementation .

but the point its kohmeni was selfsustainable , that means he was not interessted to be a direct servant for some body else .

that has got nothing to do with shiism or religion , but just love for ones country and the integrity to be your own man .

having patriosm and having ones countries interesst in his mind .

people here on the board a writing , that its good that our natural ressources are sold for a 20 % profit , because its better than nothing , and then you are asking your self whats wrong with us ???
So you are going to decide now... I would be really careful about saying that...

1.Hafezji Huzur a prominent religious leader and a true alem of our country had visited Iran during Khomeni's time. During a meeting when a time for prayers came all lined up for the namaz. Khomeini pushed Hafezji Huzur forward to lead the congregation. Hafezji Huzur was surprised. Khomeini explained that he had read Hafezji's writings and considered him a true alem behind whom Ayatullah should pray.

              2. That is how the great Imam demonstrated his message to the Iranians and the Ummah. That Muslims were one. That the difference between Shiahs and Sunnis had begun out of political wrangling and had nothing to do with dividing us.

              3. This is what WCC (Western Christian Civilization) fears most. An united Ummah would be a formidable force for world peace.

No doubt Khomeni was a great leader but he brought theocracy to Iran. I have visited iran and have found people in miserable condition. If they did not have oil, Iran could be another Somalia.

People are fed up from the system and rule of Mullas. They want democracy without theocracy. Would that Khomeni were a leader like Kamal Ataturk modernizing Iran instaead of pushing it in the hands of Mullas.

On the other hand I have found people of Iran very hospitable and friendly. They are proud nation. They will never discriminate that you are Shia or Sunni. They are not terrorists and religiously extremists.

Shia Islam is totally against terrorism and extremism. Many my American friends have agreed with me that their real enemy is Saudi and Wahabi Islam not Iran.

I don't think so, becuase in a country whith so many ethnicities its too hard. I know Iran is also multy-ethnic but Iran had one national language and one culture, but Afghanistan doesn't have something like that, even amongst Pashtun peopel there is big difrence on how they see life, and how the country should be governed.....

                      That's a remarkable anecdote, asad 71.

It does finish off the myth propagated in the West
of "Khomeini as the Iranian Hitler" - of course
easily transformed into "Ahmadinejad as the Iranian Hitler"

When the audience is totally ignorant of the intricacies of
any Muslim country's politics, history, culture, religion, behavior
                      under stress.

For example, Iran NEVER invades - and decimates - another country
                      when pressured by various forces.
Under the Islamic republic, it merely talks back
in a civilized manner, defending itself without
launched a war of aggression on some idiotic pretext.
Compare with the USA's childish behavior: "we don't like that guy!
Let's go squash him and kill as many of the citizens as possible
to shock and awe the rest into submission[to borrow the phrase that
khushal used] -so they will never rise again to have any
                      dignity or sense of self-worth".

Afghanistan MUST recover from its treatment in this regard.

A wise and HUMBLE leader, like the example given by asad71,
would be so healing for the whole country !

oh now we have a female prophet or let us say a dark skinned punjabo using a female name on the board who interpretate , certain historical events to gods will .

does this remind me on certain americans evangelical or wahabi preachers ???

yeah you are poor because god hates you , your mom is raped becaus you deserve it and its god will .....

listen razak , afghans as pashtuns dont like iranians , and i dont like them especial .

i dont like their shism , i dont like their gay language but for most i dont like their attitude .

let alone the historical animosity we share !!!

so the last one which i wish is a shia son of a mutah marriage , who looks intentionally bad on every picture to be taken more serious ...

and please let me alone with your very stupid and simple " muslim muslim brother , and now let us dance and share our wifes " talk .

It did, his name is Mullah Omar, Randolph, most Iranians are tired of Arab ideologies such as Islamic fanaticism, plus Khomini himself was a man of Arab roots too, one day a time will come when Iran will return to the days of the Shah of Iran and Islam will be considered Arab and foreign, what will people like you do, confused Western born Musulman who will have no Muslim brothers left in Asia.

I hope Iran returns to its Persian glory days and remove everything to do with Shiaism, Islam, Sunnism, to hell with their Mutah and child bride marriages laws, and their love for Arab causes such as Palestine issue.

Hopefully, Fanatics in Afghanistan, will have nobody to drain their money from. Which is a good thing.

i don't think you people understand, i meant the cult personality that combined religious nationalism with iranian nationalism. i didn't mean him being shia or the bad things his regime have done. a person that arriving to his country would bring millions to the streets and his funeral doing the same.

and no, mullah omar doesn't count. i mean a guy who was cheered by all at one time and didn't hide from his public.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
