I see your panicking again because you have been proved wrong. Answer the question, Why was Zahir shah or his kin not installed as kin since you say pashtunwali promotes lineage to rule.
It was the initial plan…Khalilzad and most of Pashtuns did push for constitution monarch system, only to be faced with furious opposition from Northern thugs…I even remember representative of Loy Paktiya, offering their services “install his majesty as king, just as we did with your father.” <---Exactly words…only to be refused by his Grace on ground that Afghanistan had enough bloodshed.

As*mule, nice for you to drop by.
Like the northern thugs had any decision making over the US or Zahir Shah was sincere in rejecting the propsal. The guy was a wimp, he never led Afghansitan because he couldnt. His cousin and uncle were the real rulers and they are dead.
And if the Nrothern Thugs had any decsion making power, why did they even let a pashtun like Karzai in Kabul.

in some areas, yes. mostly in plains. in south and west pashtunwali has changed. there are several reasons for that. pashtunwali varies with the territory but its more determinate on the hillside.

still you left out the important part of my alias but no harm meant;-)

My point of that post was that the taliban can not be defeated or forced to change their extremist policies as long as there are foreign troops on the ground. The reason they have strength is because of the foreign troops.
I am not one of those that beleives that the ISI is capable of defeating a power like the US in afghanistan when the ISI cant even wrestle Kashmir from a nopbody like India.

It is impossible for the hillside to have "Khans." You need alot of flatland to have Khans that is why we in the hillside have Mashers. When a person gets rich on the plains, he aquires more land and with it more servants or workers under him. When a person in the hils get rich, he moves away from it and goes to the plain. That is why the hillside will always be tribal and the plains evolve into a "feudal" economy and eventually into an industrial economy. Most people in the plains dont practice pashtunwali because it is not practical but it will be close to impossible for it to dissapear from the hillside anytime soon because it is more practical there.

you just got ****ing owned hard ./..and what's this "plains have mashers and flatland have khans" nonsense .....sounds like something you made up

geological topography has little to do with tribal social structures in Afghanistan.
