  • Amir Abdul Rahman Khan didnt sell anything. The Lar side was already lost and had been occupied by the Sikhs and then the British

All the Treaty of Gandomak and eventually the Durand line confirmed
was that the lands the British had in their hands, they would continue to control and influence

it was a dileanation of influence

unfortunately once the british injected their influence, the lands were forever lost

But i will never understand the division between the pashtuns,
The pashtuns share the same religion, they share pashtunwali, they should be united, they are ethnically same, and they have the same tribal organization.

Kam se kam, one day, pashtuns will be united, obviously , there are so many similarities between them.

But I think that the indics pakistanis are trying to do a " DESIfication " of the pashtuns living in pakistan, they are brainwashing them, nowadays many pakistani pashtuns hate afghanistan because of that....
O hello bharti babu who the hell are you to debate on pashtun ethnicity or unity ???? aren't you from the state who kept brainwashing the people of east pakistan(bangladesh) against the pk's government and then the honourable lady prime minister said " bangladesh ka parcham buland hoty hi pakistan ka do qoomi nazeriya samander burad ho gia" . Now you are playing the same game here you want the gallant pashtuns of KPK to join afghanistan and to leave Pakistan ,for your merciless clutches (God forbids) its not the love of afghan or pashtun ethnicity you are debating on its just the enmity of BRAVE PAKISTANIS that you are going crazy but likewise past "Pakistan hamesha tumhary ley lohey ka chana sabit hu ga ,jisay nigla nhi ja sakta albata halak mei atak kar phans zaroor jata he "

Karlani tribes didnot surrender to sikhs or british...but lets suppose from your point even if they did...why did they withdrew help for their so called lar pashtuns? Abdur Rehman khan is a hero for afghans not for us...the treaty was not done by some ghosts. It was a delineation of power shift and betrayal. From there...things are what you can see....on top of all...afghans hate us like we ve betrayed them.We had our sacrifices faced years ago and still facing...no problem...we are thankful to Allah....we are aware of everything....not brain washed...not have any hatred.

No but the Peshawar Barakzai Sardars under Telai did so. The argument that they had no official say is obsolete since Dost Mohammad was fighting insurrections on multiple sides. Sultan Muhammad Telai actually was INSTRUMENTAL in selling that region off to the Sikhs and betraying the people there. Telai did have real influence and did kill off local Khans in competition who his influence. The Khalils are very strong surrounding the vale of Peshawar itself; one of their leaders who was trying to work out a diplomatic solution between Telai and Ahmad of the Barelvi (yes, Telai was trying his best to find some strategic nesting hole for the highest bidder). Telai likely worried that an Islamist state would mean some correspondence with Dost Mohammad and that he would then have to pledge allegiance to him.

So contrary to the durand argument itself, the empowered Sardaraan of Peshawar, from whom Muhammad Zahir Shah and his father sprang, sold off KP directly to the Sikhs with minimum qualms.

It was ironic since when the Sikh leader sauntered into Peshawar one of the first things he demaded was Telai's prized racing horse which Telai tried to hide from him. He then was forced to give it over in shame.

This however does not mean that the people of KP agreed to let the Sikhs just walk onto their land... once again it was a decision made at the top of the heirarchy; the apex of power rested in the hands of the Sardaraan of Peshawar - who hailed from Qandahar.

I say there should be unity in the fields of culture and history but it shouldn't turn into an Afghan quest to grab the lands south of the indus. If there is respect there is no reason for both people not to work together but Afghans severely disrespect not Pakistan and brothers of Pashtuns which are the other races of Pakistan (theres no reason it shouldn't be so since the Afghans have adopted the Tajik Hazara and Uzbek) but also see the Pakistani Pashtuns as slaves initially to the British and then to the Pakistanis even though they have themselves advanced from slavery of British to Russian to American.

Pakistani Pashtuns have always said lar aw bar yaw Pashtun... though its in another sense than the Afghan (something I described in post 1).

I agree with parts of your post but in every post of you and revolution I see a kind of revulsion for us. You can't hide it even if you want to. Frankly I don't mind it because the people who have designs to break Pakistan are worse. But just want to add something:

This is where all this negative stuff about the Pakistani Pashtuns begins. Oh look they are slaves... they didn't fight the British hard enough etc etc. Those territories were already taken without lar Pashtuns firing a bullet (even though they did fight in their capacity)

It is the responsibility of any good leader to muster up an army and march to defend his lands. Abdur Rehman Khan the puppet did not do anything much like another Afghan leader who ran away from Kabul to Turkestan the moment British forces arrived. What the lar Pashtuns did without any support from the central government was great in itself.

I mean someone has to question what was Abdur Rehman Khan doing while the British were running amok in his land. Hanging around with his thousand harem girls?

What merciless clutches, you mean the same merciless clutches of Al-Badar and Al-Shams Pakistani Paramilitary raping Bangladeshi Muslim women in scores and slaughtered over a million Bangladeshis ruthlessly? Does it really take Indian brainwashing to convince Bangladesh who their enemies are? And don't think that Pakistan wouldn't try the same on Pashtunkhwah.
