Ustad Haji Farid
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Haji Farid hafizullah is a true Muslim and Afghan patriot.
He wasn't that much of a Muslim and patriot when he was in the parliament.
But lets forget the past, and accept the fact that right now he has the guts to speak the way he speaks right now.Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

Pashto is the national language of Afghanistan. However, Dari and Pashto also serve as the official language of Afghanistan. All Afghans are bilingual in Afghanistan, so hearing Dari or Pashto from their mouth, irrespective of their ethnicity, is not something surprising.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

My understanding, is that Pashto, Dari, Balochi, Pashai, Nuristani, Uzbeki, Turkmeni etc are all classified "National Languages".Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostSalamuna Friend,

Only Pashto and Dari however, are "Official Languages"
Practically speaking, Dari is the lingua franca of Afghanistan

But why most of the Afghans like to speak in dari or farsi whatever I don't know but not pashto. Most of the media persons, most of the officials and most of the educated people like to speak dari. why not pashto. may be you also speak dari most of the time.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostSalamuna Friend,
