      I have yet to understand the whole point of this thread. As far as we know, if the Taliban thought that they were the promised army there is no doubt that they have developed a very effective propaganda machine to answer NATOs and they would have really emphasized the point. Thus far, not single one of the Quetta Shura or even the more divided and antagonistic TTP have ever claimed such a thing directly.

      Centuries ago Ahmad Shah Abdali took the Prophets cloak and bought it back to Kandahar as a symbolic gesture with similarity to divine right monarchy. Centuries later Mullah Omar knew the symbolism of the cloack and donned it for dramatic effect. Even when he took the title Emir he never once conflated this with the Mehdi concept. This is in spite of folks writing that he had mystical dreams where he spoke to the Prophet... yet even with this at hand, he never claimed such a thing at black banners and Mehdism.

      So why is this debate stretching into eternity?

          Exactly,our brother maiwand is not correct in this issue,Mullah Umar ( hafizahullah) is not Mahdi (rad),but it is very possible that this army,is the army of al mahdi (rad),if they stay on the straight path.
          High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

            actually it is impossible; as Brother Pakhton Yar has proven; that the ahadith about the Mahdi were about the Khilafa Abbasiyah fighting the Ummayad, with Abu Muslim Khurasani. These ahadith were forged to justify their Jihad.

            And the Crusaders fighting against Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi and Seljuk Turks so the other ahadith were similarly forged.

              I had a dream I was in a discussion with Mullah Omar and a few others I didn't recognize in Kandahar (I've never been there in my life). Each person talked about their biography and goals in life. I said mines and after me it was Omar's turn. He said a few sentences but right when he was going to say the interesting points I woke up . Talk about a disappointment

                  first of all the admins of the forum are total incompetent

                  it seems munafiq and kafir is no insult in their eyes , because calling people so ,dont lead to a ban . in future i will use this term on every one whose opinions i dont like .


                  second ,

                  right the army of madhi will have weapons constructed and produced , by soviet communists and russian/eastern european orthodox christians .

                  and they will wear cloth made in china , by kafir chinese ching chongs ...
