Internet is allowed? What about all the pictures of unveiled women on the internet?
(this is according to the Taliban type of Shari'ah of course; not the REAL Shari'ah)

this should be made into a commercial; first scene is a guy roaming the badlands in Afghanistan asking to meet the Taliban, then getting a black cloth bag put over his head and taken to a remote location about to be beheaded for being a spy.

And then a narrator voice over saying "there's got to be a better way?"

Second Scene; Same guy sitting at his laptop, logging in to Ask-The-Taliban.com

Voice Over ending with "Point ....Click .....Ask"

yeah because we know before the Taliban, the Tribal Lashkran were whipping women without burqas and measuring people's beard lengths left and right eh?

where are you getting this from? I mean I know I posted a source which indicated that they molded their ideas more towards the Wahhabi fringe due to Saudi influences, but the beard length issue was trained in the Deobandi Madrassas. Where was the beard length issue specifically for financial support?

But beards have nothing to do with social laws or the working of society; why is the Taliban making a LAW about it in the first place?

This isnt an issue of whether there's anything wrong or right about beards. This is a red herring you present.

This is about whether a Government like the Taliban can push such things on people. Now Granted being forced to wear a beard is one of the last thing I am concerned about in life. However, it shows that the Taliban's priorities are totally useless for a functional society.

If we compare the negatives with the positives, there will be either more benefits and good instead bad.

So jugdging from this position there is no problem to use internet, and benefiting from it,why not,its a good way to reach people.

This is just a deluded question because i could also ask christians don't use internet there are news against your church and your beliefs so what, there is also nakedness in real life so we should make us blind ?...sense ? > missing!

I dont see what the Christian example has to do with it. Christians arent following the Taliban version of Shari'ah. LOL If your argument is that people will see nakedness, then why enofrce burqa? You guys are contradicting yourselves now

Then why is there a problem with TV and other media;on TV you have channels like the Discovery Channel which are very educational. The excuse you apply for internet can easily apply for other media as well.

The Taliban doesn't think these things through I guess? Or maybe their apologists, haven't either?

I agree with the bold parts. First of all why can't we understand imposing things does not work anyway? What the Taliban are doing won't make anyone more religious. Plus they have no policy for the growth of culture, society and economy.

A taliban government cannot fuel economic growth in a land with its restrictive policies. The Taliban don't know what they are doing. In the time of the taliban there was only one women's hospital in Kabul in Afghanistan. There were no healthcare facilities and the economy was in utter ruin.

The Talibans destruction of the Bamiyan statues robbed the Afghan people of a major source of wealth and income. I doubt the taliban are capable of ruling anything. They are just a force of destruction.

Today more than 2.4 million Afghan girls are enrolled in school, Secretary Clinton is fond of noting, compared with 5,000 just before the Taliban government’s fall.

There is nothing wrong with Discovery Channel,Peace TV (Zakir Naik) and such things this was never forbiden, because they does not contradict islamic laws and they are useful, but in Afghanistan there was just Bollywood, and the similar which lead to false attitued and thinking and destruction of the young generation.

The contradicition lies within yourself, never did the islamic emirate forbid what could benefit one.

Where did the Taliban clearly forbid all media and all modernisation, this was just american sponserd propaganda to demonize afghanistan and the soldiers of the islamic emirate.

Read alittle history before you talk about Afghanistan, when the Islamic Emirate came to Power, afghanistan was a debris, ruined, bombed, and nothing left except dust and death.

I think imposing does work on some things; I mean LAW itself is a form of imposition; they exist to assert conformity to social standards. However the difference between Logical Laws is that people can't make any other recourse to justify their disobedience. If Laws are logically sound people really can't justify their disobedience, furthermore social locomotion helps in making people generally conform.

The thing is with stuff like beards, it has no actual spatial influence on anything. Many Mullahs will argue that it turns men into being homosexuals if they see boys without beards, but that is ridiculous; because even men without beards still look like men, Very rarely does a man look like a female without a beard. And the ones that do, generally can't grow full beards anyways. So the issue of homosexual tendencies exist as another issue, not some intrinsic human drive

As for the Taliban destroying the Buddha's statue that is a bit more abstract of an issue. Clearly it was a useless act, but at the same time. I think Afghanistan being exploited as a tourist destination is also questionable. The idea that it would have brought wealth to Afghanistan is a nebulous claim. Regardless a dumb act by the Taliban.
