I guess nobody has ever been to any hostel in Peshawer or seen how little boys are treated in Kandahar.

These issues, will never go away, unless one reforms society, and I really doubt religion will play any key in this, as Mullahs are well known in indulging in sexual acts with young Madrassah students. Go ask anyone from Pakhtunkhwa, and they will tell you.

The problem with peoples reaction to the video is due to the fact, they assume that this only happens in the West, when infact, Pashtun region is full of boy dancers and prostitutes and nobody has spoken out against it nor tried to help those young boys who are exploited.

Some find it difficult to accept out of pride, but rest assured, this kind of things happens everyday in the Pashtun region, and unless we speak out against it, it will continue to happen.

Before making judgements about the ANP, I think a reasonable person would consult the ANP through email etc before making or drawing any conclusions about their party.

This dancer, could be someone off the street who has joined the protest. If its in Karachi, then I am sure most here know, that Karachi is full of She Male dancers.

    Thanks

    Amir
I actually agree with this, i lived in the ultra conservative kingdom of saudi arabia for 14 years, where you can hardly ever see a women's face. The homosexuality there is on a explosive level, nearly every boy in my class was sexually abused by teachers or drivers, or gatekeepers etc.... The worst thing is no one does any thing about it, I remember some boys use to cry because they were being sexually abused on a daily basis. Its such a shameful thing, as a society these people have failed, I wont call them muslims because they are being totally opposite Islam by committing these disgusting acts, unfortunatly they make large parts of the populations

You see vrora, we can relate on this topic, because we are from that part of the world. My uncle, who lives in DI Khan, hired a man for over ten years to look after his date trees in Harpur, my cousins would see little boys sleep over in his sleeping area outside in the field.

We never ever bring up this issue, same with the case of young girls being married off to old men in Afghanistan, it happens all the time, without the girls consent, who most of the time is too young to even decide, but others do.

As I said, its solely a gender issue. Women are disrespected in our society, they are abused and accused of being the reason why men sin.

When you base your society without equality, you will see people turn to alternatives to vent their sexual fustration i.e young boys.

In DI Khan, that crap happens all the time, even in Bannu too, men get raped if they look handsome and mothers pray they sons are born ugly.

If we as Pashtuns do not bring up this issue as a whole and try to change it or some how reform the way we see our fellow Pashtuns, then we will always slumber into this degenerate way of life.

The argument that homosexuality is caused because there is less access to women is totally bogus...

This is what some of you fear about your self....you and scimitar seem to think that if women are kept away you will get molested by men LOL

Look at the US...Canada... there is no shortage of women on the street. There is all types of "Access" to women...but they boost the highest number of homosexuals. They have cities just for homosexuals ... gay towns.

So what's the logic? In San Francisco, women are kept in captivity ...so all the men have turned gay?

Are you guys stupid or something?

ANP is a political party that has millions of members. The character of a few of its members does not reflect or constitute the manifesto of ANP. ANP has had active role in Pashtun awareness and its political representation. Those who hate on ANP should join PML-N, PML-Q, Sher/GeedarhPao or the new stooge, Punjabi Imran.
There is a reason we Pashtuns never had a strong political representation! We always start hating on our own kind. We hated Amanullah Khan and ousted him, we hated on Bacha Khan and became allies with Punjabi against him, we hated Abdul Wali khan, Ajmal Khan, Samad Khan and have never mandated Mahmood Khan Assakzai. Yet, when it comes to whining, we are the champs.
When Ahmed Shah Baba would return from his conquests of India and elsewhere the Kandaharis would make fun of him and say:"ده زرغونې زوۍ بیا راورسیدۍ"
From Sher Shah Suri/Farid Khan to Asfandyar and Karzai, we have never known the worth of our leaders, instead we have slandered, mocked and ridiculed them.

with all due respect, ahmad shah baba probably didn't have dancing man-woman-faggots dancing in his ranks in celebration. now i would understand if this faggot or woman(?) was some fringe thing, but when there are dozens of other anp members around it acting as if its normal, its troubling.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I do not think this is the case. Most Pashtuns differentiate Suri, Abdali, Mir Wais, and Khattak from what we see now.

In their own day, if they had opposition, it may have been tribal in nature, but these folks have an open distaste for Islam.

These people assisted the communists like Najib, who murdered many people.

Rather, the issue with the Pashtuns is not that they criticize their leaders, but rather, they accept them without criticizing the lack of meritocracy.

What gave Achakzai the right to call for democracy and secularism when he, like Bhutto's son, inherited the takht of his leadership from his father? For that matter, the same goes for the Wali Khan party. And Karzai is representative of this to a huge extent.

Its like asking us: Why not look for Shah Shuja's good qualities? The answer is simple, because they offer us little.

The quote from: Pakistan: In the Shadow of Jihad and Afghanistan by Mary Ann Weaver:

"mehmood khan achekzai whose Pashtunkhwa party was the strongest political party in the pathan belt...Mehmood is a marxist and an engineer... he returned to Balochistan only recently when Benazir Bhutto gave him amensty (A murder charge had been levelled against him, something he called a misunderstanding between Zia and Pashtunkhwa)...." (page 122-123)

And these gross violations and repeated invitations to call in anti Islamic forces to intervene in the Pashtun world and repeatedly inhibit our progress forward by pushing the people into war again and again, and thus creating repeated changes for radicalization and reradicalization is unforgivable.

                    This picture says it all.

Najib as the director of KHAD may have killed people but at least he did it with an intent that he thought was in the national interest of this country the least if not Islam.

Pashtuns are not in a political or social state where they could perfect merit, be it for leaders or public servants.
I do agree with you on all of these individuals that have inherited their stature from their predecessors but do understand that this is the way it is done in this part of the world. Not been elected through democratic channels does not mean one cannot speak of democracy! Secularism is an entirely different subject that has no relevance to political heredity.

Shah Shujah wasn't that bad after all. He would take dictation from the Brits during day light and would conduct meetings with the locals at night confessing his weakness and asking them to resist the Brits on their own because he couldn't. That's what they write about him.

As i said; he was doing what suited his vision about the country and its interests. We saw his predictions coming true after his regime was toppled and the lunatics (Mujahideen) took over. Now, if he may have killed people like Rabbani, Masood, Sayaf and Mujadadi in detention, props to him. He did this nation a favor. By the way, I am not a communist.
I can assure you that Mehmood Khan is not a Marxist in practice. Those who follow Karl Marx have no regard for any religion yet i have seen Mr. Assakzai praying five times a day with a vast knowledge of Quran and Hadith. He may have had a socialist agenda or sided with pro-communist regime in Afghanistan as part of his politics but he sure is not a murderer or an atheist. Nationalists in Pakistan have traditionally been sympathetic to each other specially bound together at the time of Zia when National Awami Party was established, based on which, Benazir may have done him a favor of amnesty because her brothers were also in Kabul at the time.

I don't think ANP, PMAP or Afghan Millat party has ever invited any foreign forces to Pashtun land. However, upon the invasion of foreigners, named parties have always tried to make the Pashtuns aware of ground realities informing them not to waste their lives for Punjabis and Arabs.

The points that you raise about individuals or parties are for the most part valid and one cannot deny that facts that you state but do remember that we, specially Pashtuns in the region are the least literate (academic and politically), most emotional, easily manipulated and exploited (spec in the name of religion) cannot perfect parties and ideal leaders. If left alone, at some point we may evolve and meet the standards that are common elsewhere.

He got what he deserved, i remember when he cursed the mujahideen and forced them to join him and his communists (radio interceptions).

It was shown in a Documentary about the insurgency in Herat against the Russians.
