PESHAWAR: A spokesman for the Swat Taliban on Thursday claimed responsibility for all the bomb attacks in Malakand Division and warned that the Awami National Party (ANP) gatherings would be attacked as the party was their major enemy after having launched and backed military operations against them.
Noor Hashim Ahrabi, the new spokesman for Swat chapter of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), phoned The News from an undisclosed location and claimed responsibility for the recent suicide bombing at the ANP rally in Timergara in Dir Lower district in which around 50 participants celebrating the renaming of NWFP as Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa were killed. He claimed that the recent bombings and attacks in Swat and elsewhere in Malakand region were also carried out by Taliban members.
Ahrabi, who replaced Salman as Swat Taliban spokesman and spoke to the media after a long time, asked the people to stay away from the ANP meetings to avoid harm as these were a target for the Taliban. He also advised the people to stay away from the security forces and law-enforcement agencies and government installations as they could be attacked by Taliban any time. He threatened that all the killings of militants in Swat and elsewhere by the military would be avenged.
The spokesman also advised people in Swat not to purchase land owned by the Khans as the Taliban had a dispute with these landlords and they would be made accountable at the opportune time. In reply to a question, he claimed Maulana Fazlullah was safe and sound and present in a secure area.
Swat Taliban claim Timergara blast
I bet nobody here even remembers this, our people are killed constantly by these monsters, and Pakistan doesnt seem to help them, when they only intervene when their interests are in danger, otherwise, our own people are left for the wolves
