It was Ramadan. As for I can remember, he nibbling on chicken legs, also gave out a statement about US attack on Afghanistan. Immediately, after few hours, we heard he has been arrested and handed over to US. So the chicken who was enjoying the chicken feast with his maters betraying his people met the same fate.
But this is normal for Akwanis particularly Pakistan-based Akhwanis. For example, if you would ask General Hamid Gul, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, etc. the leaders of Akhwan movement in Pakistan, they would call it a small sacrifice that must be given for the protection of the ideological state of Pakistan specifically and Mulim Ummah generally. They are telling people specially Pashtuns that if 10 millions Pashtuns are killed that is not a big sacrifice for the restoration of Arab/Islam glory and honour and securing Pakistan and its interests.

What I read is sad but how can Zaeef blame Pakistan for his own simple minded thinking. He is a man from a different time living in modern world he thinks that everything is so simple. Mulla Omar didnt look out for his country interest but Pakistani leaders did. Musharaf saved his nation from American bombs but Mulla Omar invited them so why blame Pakistan? If you host terrorists who make videos saying they will kill Americans picking war with advance countries you dont blame others for war coming to your door step. For one Arabic guy Mulla Omar destroyed whole of Afghanistan this Arabic guy took advantage of simple Afghanis but you blame Pakistan for your own ignorance. Pathan nationalists blame Pakistan and Pathan mullas blame Pakistan. Both say Pakistan support each or the other side. This is a huge joke of illiterate people who should blame themselves not Pakistan.

yet its those smart non religious generals and intel agents that supposedly didn't know bin laden was living next door to their west point lol
all besharraf had to do to safe pakistan was sell out afghanistan, and we both know honor means nothing to people like mushy. thats why he is living in exile, making 200k a lecture to people stupid enough to think what he says important. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

zaeef is a smart guy, no doubt. though he does not mention major events that are stains on the talibans legacy. he also doesn't go into great detail about mullah omar threatening to imprison him. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Also he mentions that Ismael Khan attacked Taliban first from Herat while other sources say Taliban attacked Herat and were beaten by Ismael khan with 3000 Taliban casualties.
This books gives some insight into the Taliban movement but many things are missing from it such as the details of those personel within ISI who were helping the Taliban.
He also convineintly skips on why Najibullah and his brother weren't given a fair trial and killed, even though they were un armed.

Hi what you mean didnt know. You mean collecting billions for 10 years for someone living right next to them. That is super smart if you think about it. You are simple Afghani you will never understand. Musharaf saved his country Molla Omar burned his. You think Musharaf was going to let his entire nation get bombed for some lunatic fundamentalist crazy Arabic guy. Musharaf went to school had college education he was not some backward village mulana who that Allah will send angels to protect 200 thousand dead Afghanis. You people think that you deserve some sort of award for showing honor ghairaat true islami muslimness. Twisted sense of pride and ego. Blame yourselves for your simple minded stupidity not Pakistan or Pakistanis. You dont live in the 7th century any more. musharaf went to college? like the rest of the paki elite with their hp printer fake degrees? as a simple afghani, i can return to my country anytime i want, with no one wanting me dead. besharraf on the other hand can't return to his country and i am betting u are not living in pakistan either. i am sure it wasn't war that drove u out, unlike war driving afghans out of their country. u and ur family left because despite it being peaceful, even pakis don't want anything to do with it. so instead they travel across the world, then act like pakistan is the **** lol the only nuclear state where the people flee in droves.Originally posted by PakistaniAtheist View PostHi what you mean didnt know. Hi yes Musharraf went to college. You are right that some Pakistani politicians have fake degrees but most in civilian areas who can make regional difference. Pakistani army has high regards and standards for its members. Musharraf can return to his country any time why he says he is going to be killed is financial policy he has adopted. I can also go to my country any time and my family friends openly know about my beliefs wont be hanged like Afghanis will do to a Afghani atheist. My family make frequent visits back and forth for business. I also dont spit in the western country that i live in by bad mouthing while living there. The same way i know for sure that you have family in pakistan friends who have taken refugees but you still are ungrateful just like you live in the west but are ungrateful. You can say whatever you like about Pakistan or Pakistanis the fact remains they are 100% better than afghanistan or afghanis. The fact remains that Pakistan decides what happens in your country. The fact remains that even your karzai has to kiss up to pakistan. The fact remains that your rebels are nothing without pakistan. So no matter how bad pakistan is compare to others its much better than afghanistan. you would have a point if Afghanistan was better in comparsion to pakistan but when your own country is a junk yard for global terrorists and western armies please dont point at Pakistan. if now taliban come back to power most of your people will run back to pakistan. there will be no pakistanis lining to go seek refuge in afghanistan it will be millions of mighty afghanis wanting to get in to pakistan just like soveit war and civil war.

The Taliban was an incarnation of sorts of a pan-Pashtun movement, which transcended tribal divisions to bring about order and mete out revenge against the other factions that had at one time or another lead to the Soviet invasion; but decades of war takes its toll on the thinking of people. It may well have existed in a less extremist/"Wahhabi"/Deobandi form and a more nationalist one, had Pakistan and Saudi Arabia not interfered to promote their own agendas. In fear of losing its non-Hindustani territory Pakistan repeated the same idiotic mistake it had done during Zias rule; specifically, supporting an insurgency it had nothing to do with and profit off of it. Musharraf did the exact same albeit under restrictions (which he circumvented anyway). Both instances there were massive repercussions, i.e. religious extremism and intolerance; overall a hostile insurgency, which may very well have been a secessionist movement had the aforementioned intoxication of the populace not taken place. Mullah Omar was directed in a meeting in Islamabad with MI and ISI personnel to hold out for an extradition treaty where OBL would be handed to the US, only if they agreed to recognize Afghanistan as a legitimate state represented in the UN. A Jirga of elders had already voted to deport him but having spent decades in war, they felt they needed "professional" advice from the Pakistani army, who as I said told them to stick by OBL. They completely underestimated the length the US government was willing to go to. However, one should take into consideration that the neocons were in power and would have attacked anyway, since that's all they know how to do. Another factor may have been the Central Asian oil pipeline contract awarded to an Argentinian conglomerate which HALLIBURTON lost out on. To make matters worse Musharraf and his goons rigged the 2002 elections, by bringing in the ISI fabricated amalgamation of religious parties; the MMA, into power. They were given a free hand to draft young men from Madrassas with the obvious intent of sending them to fight the good fight in Afghanistan and carry on creating political discourse. But another more sinister purpose is to hijack the resistance and keep it from turning into a nationalist movement, hence keeping Afghanistan on the reserve. The MMA set back the timer another 500 years with their idiotic austere policies. A result of which many innocents lost their live because of. Even today the ANP, no matter how corrupt they may be aren't given a free hand to govern.

When this war is over, it is now a stone cold fact that Pakistan will never be able to clear this from their name. Hamid Karzai, that dirtbag was actually ferreted into Afghanistan abroad American aircraft from Pakistan.I told them to come in. The moment they arrived, the woman started
crying. Then her husband started crying, too. There was so much sorrow that I also began to cry. My heart was so heavy that all I needed
was an excuse. We cried a lot.
“The Pakistani government and Musharraf have made a stain that
can never be washed from Pakistan’s name”, the man said. “He has
destroyed the brotherhood that we built with the Afghans during the
Soviet jihad, when we helped the mujahedeen and hosted Afghan refugees. I do not know how I, as a Pakistani, can even look into your eyes
now. We apologise. It was not our decision. We are Muslims”.
Pakistans betrayal to the Afghan nation in being anti-peace and supporting the US war will be in the history books forever and ever.
There are two types of people I think now.who oppose Pakistan for 2 DIFFERENT reasons. One wants Pakistan to be MORE of a slave to the US while the other sees Pakistan as against the civil and peace loving world. Pakistan's support for the US war is in fact the worst thing they ever did, and no measures can ever take that action back. It is there in the history books forever.
I will also add, that General Mahmood resigned after America began the war against Afghanistan. He was adamantly opposed to the US war, but Musharraf had his way.
Musharaf was not behind the death of Bhutto. Couple days before Bhutto passed, she passed a statement saying she would start more operations in the tribal areas and also allow US officials to arrest anyone within Pakistan. In fact, Musharraf ran from Pakistan and was visibly shaken at Bhuttos death. He ran out of fear for himself, and finally realized that others may be more powerful than him, and that he no longer had that power he imagined he always had. Bhutto also started noticing that lights would go off at rallies she was holding. I suspect Bhutto was empowered by Musharraf taking some matters into his own hand like allying with the West in the so-called war, and thought that with the West behind her, she was invincible. I think those statements she passed a few days before she passed was the most fatal mistake she ever made.
That is Pakistani "leaders" for you- trying to outbid who can be more of a slave to the West.Last edited by Guest; 11-13-2011, 03:53 PM.

I read this book a couple of years ago. I think Zaeef has been honest through the book, however to some extent he has refrained from touching some sensitive points. The translators of this book are in the process of publishing another book, basically translating Taliban's nasheeds/taranas.
