I daresay you've over-reacted slightly.

I go back to what I was saying in the line you quoted - do we have enough knack to step back see the whole picture? If so, then we'd rightly conclude that Pashtoons are influenced by cultural and political ideas outside their traditional culture. There's no harm in admitting this because once you've accepted this possibility, you begin to see the passions of the many arguments that Pashtoons are engaged in today.

Actually if you read back to the line that you quoted, you might see that I also said that it was the external influence on Pashtoons that leads them to the point where they split hairs over the minutest difference.

Taliban was not invented by Talibs. Osama Bin Laden did not even like Taliban when he came to Afghanistan when he was expelled from Sudan by invitation from Mullah Omar. Taliban has nothing to do with Arabs.Only Al Qaeda in Quetta and Waziristan, I admit that (have not said otherwise)

But Al Qaeda is a extremely little minority among Arabs.
