Industrial Society and Its Future - by Theodore Kaczynski

I'm not able to check the link right now, but this is definitely an interesting topic.
I believe industrializtion = globalization = homogenization.
In the past with greater geographical and travel barriers everyone had their own food, culture and clothes. However go and see the way young people dress in many big cities in the world now, and it is the standard trousers, (pants for you folks over in Obamistan) T-shirts for guys and similar things for women. The clothing thing is just one example.
Difference and variety is something to be celebrated and creates excitement and mystery. Uniformity and predictability don't.
Other than that there is also the whole issue of post-oil peak, another very interesting and complex topic which I've been interested in since 2004, when even then prominent experts were hinting of a post-oil related war, which didn't happen, and plus a guy I spoke to who works in petroleum engineering said there is still a bit of oil out there to be dug.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

the beginning of what he wrote is odd. he does a negative analysis of lefties whereas the industrial society wasn't produced by lefties. my experience of lefties are more or less those who see the faults in a civilisation too far removed from contact with nature. he sounds pretty unstable to me.

I understand ppl being defensive about a writer they may revere, however I haven't read his works but I do think that just reading a brief description of what he believed in, he obviously possesses a lot of knowledge and has something worthwhile to be examined.
There are definitely questions on how far we can continue with this path of continuous industrialization, is it unlimited? (which I doubt)* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
