This claim is a national claim not an ethnical one.

General Karimi himself is a Pashtun from Khost.

      But what is your point?

His point is a national claim of a nation state called Afghanistan towards a British-imposed border.

Can you follow the subject or not?

There are many common traits us Afghans have that have consistently gotten us into trouble, and we refuse or are incapable of learning from history

we have a hard headedness and uber pride that is a source of honour for us, but in politics, one must be logical before emotional

the claim on pakhtunistan is a failed claim, and has set Afghanistan back generations

I respect the sincerity of the General, but I ask him, the same that I ask of the AFghan nationalists here...which is, WHERE IS THE PAKHTUN NATIONALIST MOVEMENT IN PAKISTAN FOR REJOINING AFGHANISTAN?

There is NONE whatsoever. So for how many years do you plan on banging on the door, before realizing no one is there to open the door for you? At some point, you need to get off the front porch and move on

Lar Pakhtuns wish to remain with Pakistan. This is an undeniable fact. Whatever concerns, issues, or problems they have within the Pakistani structure has not yet, in any major manner, resulted in a break with the Pakistani state or the concept of Pakistan

We need to mind our damn business, and stop speaking to our Lar brothers in a patronizing, condescending manner about who they should be loyal to

They dont want to be united with us politically in a manner which breaks them from Pakistan. Unity between Pakhtuns will only happen, in the next 50 years, in the form of a Loy Pakistan

Stop thinking with your pride and arrogance Afghans.

Lar Pakhtuns are strong people, they are a proud people and they have done many service for Pakhtuns. But they will always be a minority within Pakistan.

The salvation of Pakhtana will not come from their side, nor should it be expected to come from their side

The salvation and rise of Pakhtuns is totally 100% aligned with the salvation and rise of Bar Pakhtuns

Afghans, fix your own side. Focus on your own side. Build your own side. Stop worrying about the other side, because they aint worried about you

We need to stop the encroachment of Persianization, we need to build our infrastructure, our education system and our economies. Only we can salvage Pakhtuns, but only we have the capacity to promote and build Pakhtun are a govt and institutional level

If today the border is erased, and both sides joined, we all become Punjabs vassals guaranteed. Pakhtun is finished

That, my friends is the terrible irony. If Pakhtuns unite, Pakhtun is finished.

The only capacity for unification, a true and genuine one, is if the Pakistani state disintegrates. It may very well happen one day, but until that day, build your capacity Afghans, to integrate should that day come. Integration can only happen between equal partners with mutual benefits. That doesnt exist today. Our side is weak and prone to be swallowed

              Youre absolutely right.

The Pakistani ISI head who oversaw the Afghan jihad was of Pakhtun descent. So was the Pakistani Interior Minister when the Taliban were created. It was Pakhtun bureaucrats and officers who advanced Pakistans interests in Afghanistan

That is the greatest refudiation of Loy Afghanistan.

There is an ideological conflict going on here:

One the one hand a nation exists based on language, culture and heritage, on the other hand a nation has been created based on faith.

Pakistan uses Islamic ideology to unite a diverse population. For that it needs to undermine Pashtun, Baluchi, Sindhi etc. national feelings, their cultural and historical heritage.

Afghanistan, as a strong, viable and independent state, is a threat to Pakistan because it poses as an attraction towards it´s Pashtun and to a certain extent Baluch population. The Pakistani military doctrine needs a weak and influencable Afghanistan according to their "Strategic Depth"-doctrin, too.

It´s not about sentimental feelings that the Durand-Line problem has to be solved but because Afghanistan is torn up and gone in another imposed civil war.

The Pashtuns you mentioned Ghaznavi were part of the establishment. They gained more from Pakistan than from Afghanistan.

You should listen to his comments because he clearly outlines WHY the Afghan didn´t shell the other side of the Durand-Line.

The reason is that he considers the Pashtuns across the line as his brothers and the land as part of Afghanistan, so playing the game with Pakistan would only harm his own people.

In contrary to that, Pakistan´s approach towards Pashtuns are crystal clear.....from indoctrinating them in madrassas, exploiting and assimilating them etc. to monkeys like you who do not know who their real enemy and real friend is.

Don´t waste your time here, buddy.

I could not believe my ears and eyes when I was watching this program on TOLO a week or so back. Very obsurd of Gerneral Karimi, I am highly disappointed.

On the other hand, +1 goes to Amir Ghaznavi, he literllay stole every word from my mouth. Very well said.

Graveyard is a lame piece of waste. His home provice Kunar was bombed by Paki Pathan Generals in which tens of his fellow Kunaris were killed yet this uneducated monkey blows hot aim from his rat-hole in U.S. What a mag.

No more Durand BS. I do not want have nothing with no one beyond Durand line the official border with Pakistan. Neither will it benifit Afghanistan nor us Pashtuns. If we join them we will also turn into Panjabi vassals as Amir has rightly stated. We will also become Panjabised Pathan, the thought of it disgust me. Thank you. Shame on General Karimi, he should sort out his factional militia called ANA.
