actually every party is armed in Karachi and killings do happen from all sides, however i myself blame MQM more then the other because MQM are the ones who seem to start the violence trend every time, then it is followed by other parties doing the same

btw like i said in the other thread, there are two MQM's, MQM Haqaqi is said to be the real MQM, but Altaf's Hussian MQM has much more power

I actually agree with Toramana. ANP does not extract extortion money from the areas where it has support, as opposed to the MQM, which not only takes away at gun-point the hides of your sacrificial animals on Eid but also kills anyone in cold blood that dares to ask for two more days to make his "payment" to the vermin Altaf. I have never heard a single case of ANP workers collecting extortion money all my life.

In most cases, the Pashtuns who are killed are fruit-vendors, laborers and tea-stall owners who work in Urdu-dominated areas of Karachi. Such men can hardly defend themselves against a terrorist organization (MQM) that has provincial and state-level backing. To make matters worse, these men are almost always completely unaware of what is happening in the rest of the city whereas as soon as one MQM insect is killed in one corner of their city, the entire city's units and sectors are notified to go out and kill every Pashtun they see. What can honest and hard-working men do against such a hate-filled and organized body of underground Mumbai criminals?

By the way, according to some, Pashtuns now represent 25% of Karachi's population. MQM was hoping to eventually end up creating its own province but its numbers have fallen down to 40-45% of the total population of Karachi.

In Urdu speakers there are communities like the Nagories who are neutral as a whole that is they don't support any political party as a nation. And when there the situation is tensed 99% times these neutral people are killed. Those with political affiliations are armed and nobody can attack them. The police can't do anything about them. Like If you know about the Rehman Dakait of Liyari (PPP), Arshad Pappu (MQM) and Liaquat Bangash aka Liaquat Tension (ANP). All are saved by the police .. Rehman Dakait was killed by the Police later when he tried to put his hands on the senior officials of PPP.

I would disagree with that. I have seen that a lot of Urdu-speaking people support the MQM at some level or the other. They might not be die-hard fans of Altaf but they always ultimately admit that before Altaf, the Urduites has neither a voice nor any respect and he has given them both. In fact, after Zulfikar Mirza called these people what they really are, you should have seen the surge of Urdu "nationalism" in Karachi. Don't tell me you didn't get any of those SMS's. If you didn't I'll post some here.

Lastly, for too long has Karachi's ethnic problem been hushed up by the Pakistan Zindabad media. The fact is that even according to the HRCP, the overwhelming majority of Karachi's dead are non-affiliated with any party and they're almost exclusively Pashtun laborers and small business-owners. Their stats were released not more than a month ago. Karachi is no longer about MQM or ANP (if it ever was that anyway) but it's MQM versus Pashtuns. You live in Karachi. Do you know the attitude of any MQM person towards Pashtuns? I'd be surprised if you don't.

MQM was hoping to expand into the Seraiki belt and Baltistan. But with the war of terror by the Punjabi army and the floods of 2010, way too many Pashtuns and Sindhis have settled in Karachi for MQM's liking. Now MQM's home-city is in peril as far as winning seats is concerned. Within a decade, MQM will no longer be able to be the sole representative of Karachi. As it is, Haqiqi is making a come-back and there is a lot of support for the Jamaat, PPP and PML-N amongst the more conservative and family-oriented Urdu-speaking people. MQM is doing everything it can to delay what is only inevitable. That's why it's acting like an angry puppy.

By the way, Pashtuns and Baloch are no longer given treatment in Abassi Shaheed Hospital. If a bleeding Pashtun is taken there, he will be thrown out. If this isn't an indicator of ethnic strife then I don't know what is.

The failure of Jinnah's ideological dream that all Muslims are somehow one nation (and must live in a single nation-state) is most evident in his own city, Karachi, where one Muslim is viciously butchering another on the basis of his race and ethnicity.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

wahahahah.... Pakistan is not killing Pashtoon. It is actually a secular class who are killing religious Pashtoons in Pukhtunkhwa. The Karachi chapter is different, that war is based on ethnicity. Agencies are using different parties for their own motives. What problem do you have with Pakistan ? It is the army, ISI and secular thugs who have waged this war.

There is no denying that MQM is the main culprit, the evidence of this is how the urduspeaker community who dont support the MQM has themselves been targetted by Altaf and his gang, my own uncle was shot by mqm in the 1990's for refusing to support MQM and voting for them, because he lived in a MQM dominated area of Karachi

Zulfiqar mirza made two remarks, one he tried to insult all of urduspeakers(which was wrong) because urduspeakers are also on other parties and many of them dont support any parties at all, but i agree with his first comment when he said Afaq ahmed (MQM Haqiqi) is the true leader of muhajir people, not Altaf. Its time mqm haqiqi comes in power and replaces this killer Altaf's party.

Also i must say onething, MQM now clearly has backup of some higher power in Pakistan, why dont you think that central government in punjab and army is not doing any thing any more?? even the media based in Lahore and Islamabad hardly says any thing about MQM

They consider themselves to be the cream and the grand-papas of Pakistan and consider Karachi to be their turf. That is they the term Jinnahpur i.e. a separate province if not a separate country for Urdu speaker Mahajars.

Pashtuns have organized themselves around ANP lately (during Musharaf era who backed Muhajars ) because they didn't have any other option but to unite to defend themselves against MQM bandatory. Just as MQM is a reality so much is also its animosity towards Pashtuns. Even if ANP had not been there, the condition of Pashtuns would not be better. It would be rather worse.

And this Khaliswal Shabaz Khan is uttering non-sense. His problem is, being from Khalisa, he cannot identify himself with any one group and has one foot in one group and the other in the other. ANP is not collecting Bhutta. Bhutta collection is not in the tradition of ANP.

As Pashtuns are demanding their rights through increased political and ecnomic mobalization comminsorate with their expanded demography so are Urduwan and MQM wallas smelling snake and making noise. Obviously Pashtuns are no longer just labourerors and daily wagers in Karachi to be treated non-entities but rather have gained some influence in politics and media. And that is giving a heart-burn to Urdkukan-Indicans.

MQM cannot tolerate any other party in Karachi. Also remeber Pashtuns and Sindhis have migrated in large numbers to Karachi due to floods and violence in FATA so the demographic threat to the sons of Ganga.

And when exactly was the last time you heard of things like Jinnah Pur? Secondly it's democracy if you have greater number of people you have the right to rule? Isn't it so?

I agree that ANP is the need of the Pakhtuns of Karachi, but an organized ANP not like the current one and that's why I criticize their role all the time.

You certainly don't know anything about the politics in Karachi, whenever you visit Karachi let me know, I will make you visit shops in Pehelwan Goth where they are demanding Bhatta even from a carpenter. That's how it works.. When you don't know something you better shut up.

Certainly not, I repeat myself even the MQM under normal circumstances have got no problem with the common Pakhtuns. I've been living in Shah Faisal Colony (MQM dominated area) for the past 5years..

I'd already said that what you said in the last paragraph of your post, that MQM can't share the extortion with anyone.

In the same way I am not even a fan of Asfandyar but I support ANP somehow at the end of the day that without them the life of Pakhtuns in the city was not that much relaxed

Dude, although we do not share a common political world view, your words make me laugh for minutes.

Keep it up but don“t get too personal.
                              The only constant is change.
