Terror and Violence are used by NATO, ISI, Pak Army, ANA. My question is who does not use it. But one thing is for sure, the Talibans violence is reactionary.

though, i don't agree that the taliban are somehow independent of pakistans "strategic depth" policy in afghanistan. the taliban were homegrown but the same could be said of the afghan communists.

True that but the Afghan communists did not really have any grass roots support. They needed red army soldiers shooting down their opponents. Much like Karzai/Fahim gang need NATO soldiers shooting down their opponents.
The Taliban have grass roots support since they are fighting their own battle. The only ally they have are the locals.

You could argue that the Pak Mil. and the Sunni Arabs gulf states are controlling the Taliban but in reality it is just mutual interests. The Sunni Arab states need the Taliban to curb Iranian influence and Pakistan needs the Taliban to curb Indian influence. No one is controlling any one, it is "my enemy's enemy is my friend" scenario much like when Hekmatyar was receiving billions from the US while at the same time he was making Anti American speeches on a daily basis. Is it ironic that the more Anti American speeches he made, his funding from America increased year after year or was it that America didn't care as long as he fought Americas number one threat, the Soviets.

yes partially khushal. they are bored and tired of the area but i don't believe they think they are in a hell. everything that happens in afghanistan is reactionary, everything. so everyone and everything is in a constant "cause and effect" scenario i believe.

If the talibans where on power nothing will have been diffrent becuase they folow sharia law and in scharia if you acuse some one of such thing you must have 4 male witneses, but thats almost impocibel, because a woman is not being raped in front of 4 peopel so the rapist would be free and the woman would have no justice at all.
