    Ashraf Ghani

    Afghanistan Online: Biography (Ashraf Ghani)

Ashraf Ghani, who holds a PhD degree in Anthropology from Colombia University in New York, is an Afghan-American intellectual who served briefly as Hamid Karzai's chief advisor in his interim administration and eventually was chosen as Afghanistan's finance minister from 2002 - 2004, during Hamid Karzai's transitional administration. Before joining the Afghan government, Ghani held positions with the United Nations and the World Bank, and helped prepare the Bonn Agreement.
Because of his success at carrying out a series of important reforms as finance minister, he was voted as the best finance minister of Asia in 2003 by Emerging Markets. Ghani is a strong advocate of foreign investment in Afghanistan, and even today works towards having Afghanistan be seen as a great opportunity for investment, not a charity.
When Afghanistan's new constitution was put it place, it required that the president's cabinet members must have only Afghan citizenship and so dual citizenships were not allowed. Not wanting to give up his American citizenship, Ghani declined to remain as finance minister and instead asked to be appointed as Chancellor of Kabul University. He later resigned from his position as Kabul University Chancellor and in 2005 co-founded and is currently chairman of the Institute for State Effectiveness (ISE). On their website, it states that the ISE "uses a citizen-centered perspective to rethink the fundamentals of the relationship between citizens, the state and the market in the context of globalization."
Ashraf Ghani wrote a book titled The Framework: Fixing Failed States, with Clare Lockhart (also from the the Institute for State Effectiveness), and was published in May 2008 by Oxford University Press.
Ghani was born in 1949 in the province of Logar.

people like this sell out need to get the message which his fellow "politicians" have understood- no Afghan will tolerate these people who are trying very hard to preach slavery.

IMF, World Bank, US-NATO, will never have any place in Afghanistan.

This American citizen needs to go back and leave the Afghan people alone.

Of course they will. We just have to define and influence that process as much as possible

Listen the Amir will give u a lesson in politics 101 wrora

Life is one giant prison. You have the warden who runs the prison. U have the correctional officers who administer the prison. U have the inmates who exist in a hierarchy. From known gang leaders to straight victims

Whether we like it or not afghanistan is an inmate and in all likelyhood will always be an inmate. The question is, are we the inmate no one wants to fuk with cuz youll end up with a shank in ur neck or are we the inmate droppin soaps in showers? For the last 30 years weve been gettin chumped for our money and self respect. The last thing we need to be woried about is how to fight the warden

No, Like the Soviets, they are leaving in disgrace. With Afghan history, this "game" is zero sum. These talks are one big drama they continue to put on. its fake.
We just have to define and influence that process as much as possible
Well, that is already the case. All Afghans are coming together, and the region as a whole is backing them.

I look at it from another angle. Its a fool who wants to fight inmates.

Whether we like it or not afghanistan is an inmate and in all likelyhood will always be an inmate.
I think the tables have turned.
The question is, are we the inmate no one wants to fuk with cuz youll end up with a shank in ur neck or are we the inmate droppin soaps in showers?
Ok, lets say the inmate needs to from alliances with the Chinaman, the Russo man, and the Persian man. You see these three men are the upcoming powers of the region. The Turk is also important.
For the last 30 years weve been gettin chumped for our money and self respect. The last thing we need to be woried about is how to fight the warden
No worries, the warden has shot himself in the asss, and its bleeeddding BAAADDDDD. The warden has gotten an ass whooping that he has tried to disguise. In the process, the wardens house is about to be foreclosed since he has defaulted on his LOAN from the CHINA MAN. China man is not nice. He want money back. Warden should have done his homework and studied history

Failed traitor because he refuses to hand in his American passport? How many Afghans in West do you know who would hand in their passport for the sake of a country where there is no guarantee of peace?

                Yes
How many Afghans in West do you know who would hand in their passport for the sake of a country where there is no guarantee of peace?
Exactly, my point. I don't think western, secularized Afghans who love the West should meddle in Afghanistan. They are poisonous, and history has shown that they support war against "their own" people. So either this guy can open his pockets in sincerity to Afghan people, or he should just leave. Afghanistan already has people who are more concerned about Afghanistan than their own lives, so this selfish, poisonous, and useless man is not needed. He is an American, so he should go back to America.

If he really cared about Afghanistan and its people, he would throw his passport away, and defend his people from foreigners instead of supporting war against his people.

You see, he doesn't consider Afghans his own people in the first place. Ashraf Ghani is a proud American!!!

                    Very good , indeed !

                    I agree with Ashraf.

I would add that all these westernized "intellectuals"
who have been tapped for positions under the puppet Karzai
are phony Afghans to the core !

Notice how no authentic Afghan would ever be permited to serve
                    either the Soviet occupation forces
                    or the American ones.

Both install willing lackeys --- anyone else who may represent their own people
and NOT be working nearly 100% for either Soviet or American interests
will never be permitted to have any position whatsoever
                    in a thousand years !

Many times, these types are groomed and catapaulted into power by the Council
on Foreign Relations and their associates.
They willingly sell their souls and agree to look the other way
when America does something awful against their homeland.

Thus by definition, they have no backbone and will only facilitate
power and business interests of Americans.

Oftentimes they are a-religious -- types easily recruited into Masons
                    or the equivalent.

Certainly they can not EVER squeak a word out against Israel !

Most of these sell out types don't seem to even care themselves, anyway,
                    about the dangers of Zionism.

So it's not difficult for THEM to maintain silence.
After all, their bread is buttered by who else but Zionists and
aiders and abetters of Israel who control the US foreign policy to the
                    very bone.

You bring irrelevant points up. I am saying these Westernized Afghans go to Afghanistan and support war on their own people. If he just went there, and was opposed to the war being waged against the Afghan people(instead of supporting it), he would be acceptable. Instead, he is in Afghanistan as an American, and supporting the American war against the Afghan people.

I want Afghans to be left alone. Law, order, and security were being brought to that land before the foreigners waged their failed war of aggression.

People like Ashraf Ghani, a proud American will never care for Afghan people. He only cares for his own pocket.

People in West aren't here out love for West, they are here because the situation in Afghanistan wasn't safe enough and nor is it now stable enough for them to leave to Afghanistan permanently. West moreover provides way more opportunities to futures of its citizens and Afghan citizens in West can take full advantage of it and invest their earnings earned in West into poor people of Afghanistan. Those Northern Alliance members were mainly born and bred in Afghanistan who are into politics of Afghanistan, what good have they as Afghan citizens done to Afghanistan? Nothing but looting, rapes and destructions. At least those sincerely wishing to help Afghanistan from West haven't got their hands guilty of innocent blood, or you could perhaps prove otherwise?

Even the Taliban is considered foreign puppet and supporters of aggression by many Afghans. Our country politically seen is in a big mess but there is no guarantee of when the war will finish, at least people can try to build something with the money they get flowed into the country. I had seen a documentary a very long time ago about two Afghan women, one a Kandahari and the other Kabuli, both of them American citizens. One of them was building homes for the homeless in Kabul, mainly widows. And the other was fetching Kandahari orphans in an orphanage they built in Kandahar. They didn't throw their passports away to show their patriotism, but while the dirty politics continued they resumed their work of helping the poor and needful ones, and no one else than an Afghan educated and earning in West can do that for Afghanistan.
