The Afghan Freedom Fighters as well as the 4 horseman, have a simple policy, shoot first, ask questions later. They both still exist in pockets today in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

As soon as they get any credible evidence of terrorists they lay waste to them.

Probe: Afghan troops ran, hid during deadly attack

"WASHINGTON – As one of the deadliest battles of the war in Afghanistan raged, Afghan soldiers ran, hid and even stole personal items from the American troops fighting and dying at a remote outpost."

"One of the harshest came from two Latvian soldiers stationed at Keating and responsible for mentoring the three dozen Afghan troops at the base in mountainous Nuristan province near the Pakistan border. In interviews conducted after the attack, the Latvians told the U.S. investigators that the Afghan soldiers lacked "discipline, motivation and initiative.""

That happens often. The ANA only look to numbers and sizes of guns. I don't mean that tongue-in-cheek or anything.

If there are 4 ANA [typical small squad out doing what they do...] and 10+ Taliban...every ANA will unload their full clip into the Taliban...but then would probably get into their truck and drive off.

To a Pashtun, thats like the equivalent of saying:
There are some hired street thugs/mercenaries that unload their clip into folks who are fighting against occupation or possibly innocent civilians with goods to steal.

Yes, but they are also the security forces that will remain when we leave.

Given the level of jihadists on this forum...it seems you would rather the ANA killed then find a way to change their tactics.

By determining the length of the war and the length of time russia was here, that depends.

Guerrila warfare (and all muslim terrorists included) is considered cowardly acts if used beyond an initial invasion or a major push.

I honestly think though...that we will being using an entire guerilla-type setup, a new style of guerilla warfare...when we leave afghanistan. Many neighboring countries to Afghanistan already let us fly in through their borders.

I believe, it will be SF wake up one morning, go into a normal looking car and will have plates underneath their man-dresses. Once intel is taken/received a large group of Taliban will be dead. There will be no overhead clout nor larger "military footprint" so there will be no need for explosives or the Taliban's guerilla tactics.

And...if the Taliban uses the same guerilla tactics when our SF are in Afhganistan...it will kill so much of the populace and the security forces their days will be limited by a whole lot.

And, because they are Special Forces, they won't realease kill counts/ missions or anything to the public unless the White House wants something specific to be released.

So, there will be no more number crunching...no more 'spotlights' just good ole pure covert ops. Which kind of brings a sort of enlightenment on the issue. We come here, stomp our foot (create a large military presence) use our main military combat forces to gain all the possible intelligence we can for and about Afghanistan/Pakistan.

Gather that, store it on our large computers and after 10 or so years (good round number) leave and let Special Forces go to each and every recorded location, kill the terrorist and rinse and repeat. Actually, pretty brilliant if you think about it, concerning computers pretty much rule the military now LOL.

Jihadists dont post here compadre. The policy of the forum is agains that sort of thing.

If by the ANA you mean common street thugs paid like Razik, then I have no problem hearing that Razik gets smacked out of this world if he turns his guns on innocent Nurzais to suit his own excesses.

The ANA in Afghanistan are something like 16,000 from what I've heard.

Majority non Pashtun, but fighting in Pashtun territories. The thugs that are recruited from Pashtun ranks are killing and fighting based on tribal rivalries. Watch the frontline direct footage of just such example where a tribal leader is reported by the locals and then turns out to be innocent and then when that one "reformed" talib lets his own go.

What about the Taliban then, who mostly recruits Tajiks and Turks and Kazaks?

Do you mean the real tribal leader, or a shadow or mimic the taliban has setup?

Watch the Frontline documentary. It was immediatly apparent that he was government friendly and nontaliban, and was what we pashtuns call a Kalaay Mishr (village elder). The village elders in both Pakistan and Afghanistan are generally government friendly because they get benefits. However, the soldiers turned his house upside down and basically had to generate the false issue of finding "weapons" which they show. Its idiotic because, like the south of the US, every home in Afghanistan has weapons and a basic AK and some belts with bullets in them were pawdry in comparison to what many well armed tribesmen have, regardless of government or Talib sympathies. so they then had to fly him back home embarassed and having earned an enemy. This was the special elite unite that Petreus employed.

Matt, you dont make sense because its a whole different story between targeting Osama Bin Ladin (there is only 1 of him) and fighting insurgent leaders who blend well into the populace. Basically, they have to use local informant info to identify these people and otherwise, its not like the US where we all have birth certificats and pictures galore going back as far as birth, grade school, preschool, work etc. So its quiet easy to make mistakes in that environment.

The funniest interview is with the last commander in teh movie where he says: laooss e ratha raawaachol. He basically is executing pure Pashtun badal mentality and says that America translated: "threw the first punch" and now the Pashtuns are going to carry this vendetta to death and across country lines loooool.

Oh my goodness, you have no idea what you guys are doing. Killing the midlevels creates a thousand more.

Watch the video matt. Its goign to take you away from the Stares and Stripes propaganda you are fed. They even point out that the defections that Petreus tooted up are a microfraction of teh insurgency at best.
