Well, just watch. Another bomb will drop and he will skulk away, true to his position (that of a puppet). Tally the number of warnings that were the "last" time he was going to repeat himself and you hear a broken record.

However, it is no different here in the US. The people really had no choice in the last election: escalate in Afghanistan (Obama) versus escalate in Iraq (McCain). Each time a resolution is put forth by Dr. Paul, Mr. Kucinich, or any of the other folks truly invested in an American First ideology the US from its stupid involvement in these overseas endeavors, it gets voted down. They have no choice either.

What has happened is the elite have grabbed the reigns and left the populations bereft of any choice.

The last resolution was a very close vote, so basically as more bad news continues to come from Afghanistan in regards to the costs for the US gov, then look to this finally coming to a close. People are acutely aware that America has been defeated in Afghanistan.

As much as I despise Karzai for his lack of a spine, and his inability or lack of will to demand the foreigners to leave Afghanistan, I do think this time, a clear precedent has been set. He is effectively tying their hands. He appears to admit he is a puppet. It also appears that this move does demonstrate to everyone else that he really has had no say in what the foreigners do in Afghanistan.

On several occasions they have continued to dismiss everything he says. The disrespect is so much that the 'Afghan government' themselves realize what a joke they are.

It matters not what Karzai says obviously, but this statement that is made publicly reveals the reality on the ground in Afghanistan. Karzai himself appears to be fully aware that the US has been defeated both politically and militarily. Seeing the inevitable outcome, he is either going to continue to come out with strong statements in hopes of having a place in the future Afghanistan, or pack his bags, and leave with the defeated foreigners.

While he is a puppet, and he himself knows this ( I am sure), there are a few things he can do. The most valuable thing he has is the fact that he is internationally recognized. If he were to make good on his threat, there would be several regional countries that I think would take a very anti-NATO approach, and become more public with their stance, and do everything possible to aid the Afghan people in ending foreign intervention.

Most of Afghanistan does not accept the "Afghan government," considering their authority does not even extend beyond Kabul. I do think the city government has made some good moves that I hope the next legitimate government continues to incorporate in their foreign policy. For example, their continued intention to be a part of SCO is something that will be beneficial for the future.

The reason Afghanistan has seen these wars is that it has never really solidified alliances with reliable partners. I sure do hope that more alliances and a very up to date air defense system is put in place in order to prevent foreign intervention, and in order to put an end to this pathetic thing they call the great game where only these powers continue to lose, and in anger bomb the country with depleted uranium.

The best way forward is a healthy relationship with China I hope, and also a initial emphasis on developing a very strong air defense. This I hope are the first top priorities for the future legitimate Afghan government.

I think this is the last empire Afghanistan will have to defeat on its soil. I think that there will be peace, and the country will be rebuilt.

For me, I think we have to wait and see now.

I think the majority of Americans are so preoccupied with trying to pay their bills and prevent foreclosure that they have become somewhat blind to what the government does. In some ways, freedom has actually resulted in slavery.

I highly doubt anyone in the midwest or East Coast would ever rise up against the government. Was it Washington or Jefferson that spoke of permanent revolution in cases where the government becomes corrupt? It is I think something the founding fathers (I say this to make an argument, they were mostly moral hypocrites when examined more closely) supported- permanent revolution.

The only people I think that could possibly change the course of American history and save it from the inevitable internal collapse are the Americans in the South. These people are conservative and still have secessionist feelings minus slavery (obviously).

Ignorance or the lack of will to force the government to change is no excuse. If people in Cairo can topple a tyrant, and now put him on trial, I am sure Americans if they had the will power could do the same.
