He moved up the chain of command and directed a geurilla war and a world wide insurgency. Che also had some balance to the asymmetry with Russian arms, tanks, etc in Cuba. It appears Mr. Bin Ladin died nearly in debt and was working with paucity of arms. I hardly think attempting to reinvent him does any service to your cause as you once again underestimate his reach and what he accomplished. He truly was America's Hannibal Barca.

Akherousin needs to read Michael Scheuer.
O'faithful hearken thy vezir, for he promises them another Gandamak and for the ancestors of Hari Nalwa a similar fate has been sealed. We shall shake the foundations of their inner sanctums, written in gold and immortal will remain this endeavor of Afghans.

I was responding to how "brave" you thought he was compared to Che Guevara, not his global reach. I already knew he was one of the most powerful men in the world.

What I don't understand is, why not join the Somali cause? Why not go in hiding in Eastern Libya? Chechnya?

Studying for a physio exam atm. May take a while to respond.

          • No one really knows how the woman was killed. I doubt a man like him who devoted his life and gave his life to his cause would hide behind a woman. He died how he wanted, in a blaze of glory.

But we don't really know what actually happened.
            1. How was the helicopter that crashed result in no injuries for the Americans.
            2. Why not display his body for the world and instead throw him in the sea.
            3. Why kill him if you know exactly where he is, and not take him alive
            4. Why is there no serious criticism of the Pakistani establishment where he was found
            5. How could the Pakistani Army not know of the raid, when it happened in their "West Point." The raid lasted 40 min and then they left and flew to Afghanistan and the Pakistani army never knew what happened. Come on. If your going to make up a story, at least make something up that is believable.

              • Akherousin, not to seem like I am coming to the defense of Bin Laden but there seems to be a lot of black fog about what actually happened

first the media says they grabbed the woman as a human shield,

then they say the woman possibly voluntarily jumped in front to protect Bin Laden, next they say it was just indscriminate fire.

My question is why were they in such a hurry to gloss past all of this if they have a comprehensive account. How did they get a DNA test within less than 24 hours and bury him at sea immediately after? These things dont just happen.

This is the best news I have heard in 10 years. Paki army sodomized in broad day light, and that too in its back yard. A few more raids, in the 'randi-bazaar' called pakistan and you can get 'mullah omar' and the other half dozen notables on the most wanted list as well.

                  New formula to find them.

Draw a 1 mile radius circle around all army barracks, compounds and cantonaments. select a high walled 'tableegi' approved dwelling. Calculate the male-rundi ratio (if greater than 1:2 than its a high value, if 1000:1 than its foot soldiers - ignore) and see how many black SUVs with tinted windows go in and out (to bring in more rundis). You will have your men 9/10 times. Finally no reason to waste time in pashtoon areas- the army cannot do this there as the rundi market is less well developed.

don't you have a Pakistani passport; aren't you one of those people who constantly use the "don't bite the hand that feeds you card".

                  heh

eh how is it you don't have a Pakistani passport when you're a Pakistani national? you're a citizen of Pakistan.

as for OBL's death nothing to be stirred up about; he's like Saddam and other stooges used as a patsy, while the real culprits get away; and that's where the real tragedy is, that the U.S. who built up and enabled bin laden, trained and directed him over the years can act as if their hands are clean, and walk away unscathed, I hope this is a catalyst for the evil empire's fall.

For the woman, as I research more, I'm hearing conflicting reports. I guess I shouldn't have used that example and we'll probably have to wait before we hear anything else.

If you're arguing for whether this is a sham or not, Al-Qaeda websites have already confirmed his death. If that isn't proof that he's gone, idk what is.

The reason why this went on so quickly is because it was very very well planned. Remember, the US gov. got the intel in Aug. 2010.

Heh Al-Qaeda websites are probably as misinformed as we are. I don't think this proves anything; most of those dudes who run Al-Qaeda websites are just internet wannabes.

You can't get DNA confirmation.....that quickly by the way there are tests which have to be done which take minimum 3 days.
