LOOOOL, look at this Scimitar and Khushaal, they are sending three cities worth of loyalists after me. My reputation proceeds me. Now if I can only get Mellat to also give me such an ear.

Note also how they have their base of activists in Islamabaad. I guess the irony is lost on them.

Oh Toramana, here is a poem to nail to your corner in honor of this grande hunt! Luffy could not appreciate the beauty of English poetry because you appreciate subpar work. Here is a grande piece from Byron, the great poet of his era. I am sure that your comrade walkers abroad view themselves as the Assyrian here... but tis they that are the sons of Ashur. We here are merely breaking baal and your other false idols one by one! Achekzai Saib today, Asfandyaar Booth tomorrow, Karzaay saib the day after that, Najib yesterday and so on and so forth. As we break each one we exclaim: 'The truth is come and falsehood is vanishing'

      THE DESTRUCTION OF SENNACHERIB,
The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,
      And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;
And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea,
When the blue wave rolls nightly on deep Galilee.

Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green,
That host with their banners at sunset were seen:
Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown,
That host on the morrow lay withered and strown.

For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
      And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!

And there lay the steed with his nostril all wide,
      But through it there rolled not the breath of his pride;
And the foam of his gasping lay white on the turf,
And cold as the spray of the rock-beating surf.

And there lay the rider distorted and pale,
With the dew on his brow, and the rust on his mail:
And the tents were all silent, the banners alone,
The lances unlifted, the trumpet unblown.

And the widows of Ashur are loud in their wail,
      And the idols are broke in the temple of Baal;
And the might of the Gentile, unsmote by the sword,
Hath melted like snow in the glance of the Lord!

Barakzai, you don't seem to be intellectually well-balanced---Posting and re-posting that one damned source wouldn't lend credence to what you say or claim ( I can produce a hundred of such links and sources saying the contrary)...

By the way these were not ANP or PMAP wallas being the cause of or having invited the US to Afghanistan neither during the Afghan Jehad/Fasad not later during the reign of the one-eyed caveman Hadrtah Mullah Omar Saib....These were the very heroes of Afghan Fasad/Jehad living closing to Staff college Quetta that got to be used as usable and re-usable...ANP and PMAP wallas are not primarily men of war...They are men of politics---They have not been manaufactured in some dark-hovel of ISI-CIA production factory for the sole purpose of maintaining one or other type of imperialism through violent proxy-ism---There existence doesn't owe to any Jehad or Fasad or Strategic Depth or Cold War....Every body knows that well...

Anyhow, PMAP wallas would be very happy to determine the reason of your obcessive/excessisve disliking for Achakzai saib and your family's "influence in Pakistan" not in a negative/violent way (like jehadis) but to respond to the propaganda...

Oh Toramana, good sources never lose value! And the issue is that you cannot produce such a source. You derided the Tribal Analysis Center and then Shayesta's posted sources, inadvertantly, concurred completely with the TAC's analysis of the ground level situation, and who the insurgency represented, as well as the history of religiosity in the setting of outside threats.

Regarding ISI, you appear to be have missed this part where they manufactured Achekzai in their basement:

            "His desire for reunification with
Afghanistan’s Achakzai caused the Pakistani Government to believe that Haji Mohammed Khan could reunite the Pashtun territory in Afghanistan, which would remove a quarter of Pakistan. They prevented this by causing enmity within the tribe. Mehmood Khan wanted to succeed his father, Abdul Samad Khan, in the tribe’s leadership and with the help of ISI, he killed Haji Mohammed Khan and two of his sons in 1990 and declared himself as the new Achakzai leader. The Ghabizais are still a powerful tribe and control Pakistan’s Gulistan district.7"

            http://www.tribalanalysiscenter.com/...ai%20Tribe.pdf

Regarding imperialism through proxyism.. .first your toadies in the ANP/PMAP worshipped Najibushaytaan booth and backed the Soviet PRoxies and now they are, like the neoconservatives, utilizing American firepower to accomplish their sick goals. You cannot get more proxy than that compadre!

So as I stated, let the PMAP/ANP walla put their money where their mouth is. Instead of being arm chair politicians that send others to their deaths or watch with glee as waziris are killed and then shift policy when they see the public mood souring, let them pick up their guns and fight their own wars. What are they afraid of? That Omar will turn out to be an actual fighter and not a soft handed run away slave like them?

Like an enraged person you are quoting that one source again and again from the damned and shamned source called Tribal Analysis Center (someone claiming to be from FATA is by the way also on its board---PMAP wallas are going to write to TAC what is the background of that person)....

Now as one source is never enough in standard research, you should quote/produce me at least two more sources confirming the above and also the the primary source which the above information has been taken from. If you can't do that, you are just kicking vainly in the air. No one is going to believe the ISI disseminated rubbish you are quoting.

ANP and PMAP existed as anti-imperialist forces (against British and later Punjabi, US, etc.) when there were no Islamist proxy-ism or communism yet...At least you cannot deny that...If you do, I fear you cannot think sanely....The violent proxies on the other hand owe their existence.creation exclusively to ISI-CIA mechanation/engineering...The whole world knows that...

The day that ANP/PMAP start an armed struggle for the goals of Pashtuns and Afghanistan is the day they will become credible. Till that day if it ever happens, they will just have to sit on the bench and watch other more serious movements outrun them.

Oh Toramana Toramana Toramana, here is your second source kaka,

                      http://books.google.com/books?id=9QE...%20ISI&f=false

The quote from: Pakistan: In the Shadow of Jihad and Afghanistan by Mary Ann Weaver (let me guess she is an ISI agent too? LOOOL)

Here is the commentary about Murderin Mehmud and his views:

"mehmood khan achekzai whose Pashtunkhwa party was the strongest political party in the pathan belt...Mehmood is a marxist and an engineer... he returned to Balochistan only recently when Benazir Bhutto gave him amensty (A murder charge had been levelled against him, something he called a misunderstanding between Zia and Pashtunkhwa)...." (page 122-123)

The book goes onto discuss his support for the communist factions against the legitimate resistance movement of AFghanistan.

And looks like Paki establishment Bhutto and him were bosom buddies. Or perhaps Bosom baddies?

BAAAMMM two sources Toramana. You asked for it. Go ahead and call Annie Weaver an ISI assett now.

Drone Strikes Aren't the Real Issue in U.S.-Pakistan Relations - by Daud Khattak | The AfPak Channel

As recently as a few months ago, the ANP leaders privately supported the drone strikes, arguing that drones are the best available means against al-Qaeda and Taliban and even describing them as "ababeel" a term used to describe small birds who came to the rescue of Mecca during a Sixth-Century siege.

Yes, we can learn a lot from the wisdom of these leaders.

                          http://www.youtube.com/anppress
                          1. The ANP appear to be far shrewder and more astute than in the past, and I am really impressed with the way they dealt with the Hazara challenge, when it initally appeared that there was so much momentum behind the Hazara call for secession from KPK that it was virtually inevitable.

                          2. They have placed their desire for Pakhtoon unity and peace above party considerations. Many ANP leaders and workers have been murdered by militants, but the ANP is not seeking revenge and from the onset has sought to diffuse tension and been conciliatory towards the Taliban.

                          3. This is an incremental game which will see the ANP accumulating more and more gains in a gradual manner. The ANP has won substantial autonomy to the point where Hoti himself can interact with foreign governments on a one to one basis on administrative affairs.

However the main problem with the ANP is the rampant corruption which everyone in KPK knows about including ANP supporters. One ANP member on my MSN told me that corruption is a problem. It is this which may cost them their seats in the next election. It seems votes will swing to the PTI. If the ANP loses power due to corruption then the cause of Pashtun nationalism will be severely damaged.

However there are two years left and anything can happen. However they have achieved some major success including making Pashtun nationalism an important factor all over the federation from the north all the way down to Karachi.

Even if the PTI takes KPK in 2013, the ANP is still in Karachi as the defendor of Pashtuns and the main force there which stands against the Hindustani agenda of Hindustani cultural and political hegemony (which was their original goal for Pakistan but which failed when Ayub Khan took over) and for an all-Muslim city. So they will still be very important.

The ANP are now on a major recruitment campaign. What some forget here is that apart from the ANP/PMAP there are basically no other nationalist parties that Pashtuns can vote for, instead there is the PML, PPP, the murderous Jamat, the JUI and others.

They are the only show in town (rightly or wrongly)

However no matter what happens the ANP will always be there and Pashtun nationalism and consciousness is far stronger than it was even as recently as 5 years ago.

We Bengalis ultimately achieved liberation via the sister party of the Awami National Party, the Awami League (who were actually political allies before 1971) which worked within the framework of the constitution and Pakistani political system and ultimately when the Punjabis chose war, smashed the Punjabi army, and gave them such a whipping and humiliation they still cry about it today. So for the time being the Awami National Party should continue with a mass recruitment campaign including its recruitment of female members and set up a powerful political structure.

                          - It needs to be avoid being seen as a party primarily of the Peshawar valley (e.g. Mardan, Kohat and Peshawar, it has never enjoyed much support in FATA, the tribals being somewhat hostile to Abdul Ghafar due to their highly jealous guarding of their own independence. They felt a Pashtunistan would mean Bacha Khan would be some sort of king, and when you bear in mind these tribals never even accepted Ahmed Shah Abdali, then they wouldn't accept Bacha Khan). However this issue doesn't exist in Karachi the largest Pashtun city in the world where Yusufzais, Khattaks, and the Mehsuds, Mohmands and Waziris of FATA all unite under the ANP.

                          - It needs to respect the religious identity of Pakhtoons, not that is a major problem anyway, since there are many religious people in the ANP and they have prayer breaks in their events (I have seen the photos on my facebook).

If they do lose the 2013 elections, they need to continue their recruitment drive, their campaign for greater Pashtun cultural autonomy and the creation of a very powerful party system which is parallel to a local government system.

On a final note, there are the wider regional and international dynamics of which they have no control.

The most important issue in Pakhtunkhwa is not the ANP, but is the potential North Waziristan offensive which will be the mother of all battles and if it goes wrong than the Pashtun tribes of FATA and elsewhere will all unite and may launch their own counter-offensive to cross over the Margala Hills and take Islamabad. Tribes like the Khattaks and Yusufzais believe in peace and reject the TTP but if they believe that it is a war against Pashtuns they may change their position.

So far the tribes of FATA are sick and tired of the murderous TTP, but if the Pakistan army does something and the war spirals out of control and it is seen as a war against all Pashtuns, then we may have a tribal offensive which repulses a Pakistani army attack and drives them all the way back across the Margala Hills and takes Islamabad.

True power lies with the Pashtun tribes.

The Margala hills with Islamabad seen in the background.

                          Jirga.

Just to clarify 1971 and Bengali liberation was an accumulative outcome and the decades of political work and building up a grass roots structure worked. In other words working within the Pakistani political framework did pay off.

                            - Due to political campaigning, the whole bureaucracy of the then East Pakistan became Bengali, and it was this civil service which became loyal en masse to Mujib to the point Islamabad had no real control over the province.

In other words the whole of East Pakistan was united and it was this unity which was key in delivering Bengali liberation. If it did not exist and the years of political work to make it happen previous did not take place then Bengali liberation may not have happened. Freedom in 1971 was an incremental achievement fundamentally and not a overnight occurance, which maybe the same for Pakhtunkhwa.

However Pakhtunkhwa there are some fundamental differences to East Pakistan, including the nature of the powerful and indomitable tribes of FATA who up and till they became angry with the TTP used to support them and routinely used to beat the Pakistan army in every battle. It is these dangerous and formidable tribes of Pashtuns that have the potential to once again defeat the Pakistan army divisions sent against them to the point of crossing over the Margala hills and taking Islamabad, which is an hour and a bit away from Pekhawar with the 155 km Islamabad - Pekhawar highway.

In karachi its very hard to dislodge mafia MQM from power. At best ANP can win 4 or 5 seats from karachi thats if the constituiencies are demarcated fairly.MQM has even interfered in the recent house listing census and it prevented census enumerators from doing its work in areas dominated by punjabis, sindhis, pakhtuns and balochs.

Doubtful house-count creates stir in political parties

Comical analysis, especially about the part of secular nationalists working shrewdly towards leading a bunch of Islamist tribals under the name of TTPakistan towards Islamabad, all the while having the tribals ignoring that the nationalists are the ones that called for and propagated for the drone strikes, referring to them as 'ababeel'.

On topic, the ANP is coming to terms with reality one by one. First, there is and will never be a Pashtun 'movement' against THEIR state. Second, the facade of Pashtuns as being innocent secularists who had just been hijacked by the punjos/isi/arabs/camelism/Islam comes crashing down on them. Third, the taliban will not be defeated either in Afghanistan or Pakistan, better work to 'reform' them, or they are going to be hung, and the Pak army won't be there to save them.
