It keeps away Sharia law (law law)? Besides, what else are you going to do? Jumping on the backs and being used by foreigners is a hell of a lot better than acknowledging that 'your own' are being killed by the foreigners.

I don't think there is an answer for this question.

" being used by foreigners is a ... lot better than acknowledging that 'your own' are being killed by the foreigners. "

Incisive observation which maybe sums up the whole sorry secular Pashtun picture !!

          Sure. No problem.

          Here is one.

If you are a secular Nationalist, then you can accept everyone else in your nation despite how different they are than you. And given as to how complex and varied nations are, it is a sure way to ensure social cohesion.

          Would you like more?

I think he was referring to their non existent positive track record, and that they lack the spine to bring about the change they want.

What you are referring to is tolerance, and that is not a secular characteristic. Just look at the burqa ban in France.

I agree with you. Just for craps sakes, one can turn around and say the by turning towards Islam one can get the same cohesion. It has historical precedence in the region and would be acceptable to the people.

Personally i don't see the competing paradigms between the two.

the funny thing is many of the secular nationalists would have called us "Watandars" five years ago if they saw what we were saying back then; we changed because we learned and realized the errors of the secular nationalist thinking.

I remember the days back when you were an Atheist and you would bash the qur'an lol

Do you really think athiests or secular people get a long well with others? As we have extremists among Muslims and other religions, there are extreme extremists (fascists) among atheists and secular people as well.

The moment a secular or atheist takes over power, the first thing he/she would do is ban all religions. We witnessed that with the communist regimes across the world.

Secularism/Atheism does not get a long well with "tolerance".

many of us were Shamlwar Khorasani, Randolph; now these guys have changed and have become very strong believers.

Although I like Randolph's more level headed approach than Shamlawar Khorasani's aggressiveness.

Well, the number one reason would be to fill your pockets with cash and brag about what a wonderful public servant you are. Its a win win situation. So I would ask you why wouldn't you.
