brother,i am not against farsi or any language.My point is people should feel proud of their lanuage.Learning other language is great losing your own language is worst.
THESE PASHTUNS FROM AFGHANISTAN ARE lying they say pashtu and dari are the tow national languag ok if thats the case then how come every pashtun can speak farsi and the farsiwan speak only farsi not pashtu?
media etc are full of dari why not pashtu?

Wrora Timbaktu raised a good point. If the media outlets are mostly in farsi or urdu or english, people will communicate in that language to ease barriers. If we don't create any external incentive, infrastructure how will the language stay dominant?

i was born and raised in kabul and i knwo how dari was dominant back than and pukhto is rising nowadays and when people such as you have this soft spot and say farsi is rich than pashto you are denying the rights of pukhto language.

How is farsi older than pashto?and what has farsi prodeced unless you mean translation to farsi from arabic and other languages.
pashto is survivng and there is no rivalry among Pukhto and dari.
I find pukhto to be a more authentic language than be it farsi or dari.

Thats because historically pashto has been a primitive language of the rural populations. Even Ahamad Shah Baba's language in the royal court was farsi. Farsi is like English today, its the lingua franca of the whole world. Farsi used to be the lingua franca of the whole south, central and west Asia. Farsi is dominant because the powerful rulers and kings adopted it as their language. From Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi who was a turk to Ahmad Shah Baba all adopted farsi as their court language. It's unfair to compare farsi with pashto, its like comparing chitrali to pashto. Why do chitralis speak pashto and pashtun don't speak chitrali? Because pashtun dominate the urban centres and control the media and cultural outlets.

Farsi is the lingua franca of Afghanistan and many other countries since a long time.

If you want to promote pashto, first learn it yourself, learn to read and write in it and then teach it to others. Why would a farsiwan speak in pashto if he has no reason to? Have you ever meet a mohajir who speaks pashto? The promotion of pashto is the responsibility of pashtuns and our leaders. We should make pashto a modern language in which scientific books can be written and research papers can be published. So far we have failed but inshallah there is hope.

Just give it 30 or so years of peace in Afghanistan and you will see the advancement of pashto.
