but my beard? .....Wrora, this is what I meant about Salafism, the priorities are upside down.
the beard thing was a joke same as you were saying that we admire these people.i dont know what larceny means but listening to hip hop doesnt mean you should do drugs alcohol etc and act like these people.

btw im not a salafi and if you go to Afghanistan and ask people they will tell you beard is a must for a muslim.

but you can't deny that entire subculture reflects those things and is steeped in it; so why give anyone associated in that type of lifestyle or culture any accolades?

the industrialized hip hop may reflect those things, but most of the songs we post around here is the type of him hop that does not promote money and drugs, instead it downgrades it, and just speaks truth to their lives or what ever else they are raping about. so we're not giving any accolades to anyone, we just listen to the songs. (lol i had to look that word up. you have a very broad vocabulary) For example eminem DOES have some very messed up songs & i don't listen to those songs, but he also has some very good songs where he is speaking truth to his life, not how much money has or how many girls he can get or how much drugs he has.

Bro; we're not talking about the hukm of lahya(beard in Arabic), but we're talking about priorities; not even Nabi(saw) who is the one who advised people to wear beards, emphasized beards as much as people do these days. Isn't that bizarre?

The beard was only emphasized as a distinguishing feature of Muslims who were at that time a small minority; after they became a powerful and major entity, the idea of beards being prominently emphasized was never addressed.

There's nothing wrong with having a beard, but let's not take things out of context.

                http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/nuh/beard.htm

larceny is stealing things like cars and such.

but why praise a man or show appreciation for someone who represents this behavior?

isn't liking his work , the work of someone who uses his work to further his lifestyle also essentially praising him?

no, because the songs of his that i do like are not about drugs or money. But his life is about money and is/was about drugs.
i like those few songs, i dislike the life he lives.
but i understand what you are saying. and i agree with you to an extent, but just because i like a few songs of eminem doesn't mean i praise the life he lives.
