Lets have a meaningful discussion on neoconservatism and interventionism in relation to Pashtuns with the spirit of mutual sharing and learning and in the larger interest of Pashtuns and the world and not just to win the argument on rebuttals and argument for the sake of argument.
According to Britanica neoconservatism, is variant of the political ideology of conservatism that combines features of traditional conservatism with political individualism and a qualified endorsement of free markets. Neoconservatism arose in the United States in the 1970s among intellectuals who shared a dislike of communism and a disdain for the counterculture of the 1960s, especially its political radicalism and its animus against authority, custom, and tradition.
In economics, neoconservatives believe that markets are an efficient means of allocating goods and services.
Neoconservatives have been especially influential in the formulation of foreign and military policy, particularly in the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. They contend that power—military, economic, or political—that is unused is for all practical purposes wasted. The military might of the United States should be employed around the world to promote American interests. And it is in the interests of the United States, they say, to promote the development of democratic regimes abroad.
According to Howard Dean Neoconservatism is the first variant of American conservatism in the past century that is in the "American grain." It is hopeful, not lugubrious; forward-looking, not nostalgic; and its general tone is cheerful, not grim or dyspeptic.
According to Wikipedia Neoconservatism in the United States is a version of US Conservatism which based on the tenets of Neoliberalism supports free markets and representative democracy.
In foreign policy it defines national interests to include ideological interests e.g. the defense of other nations with similar ideologies for geopolitical purposes, proposing to use American economic and military power to bring democracy and capitalism to other countries
As per wikipedia Interventionism is a term for a policy of non-defensive (proactive) activity undertaken by a nation-state, or other geo-political jurisdiction of a lesser or greater nature, to manipulate an economy or society. The most common applications of the term are for economic interventionism (a state's intervention in its own economy), and foreign interventionism (a state's intervention in the affairs of another nation as part of its foreign policy)
I believe that Neoconservatism and Interventionism of USA or other countries is a big benifit for Pashtuns and a great opportunity because Pashtuns are an underveloped nation with high rate of illiteracy. Democracy and human rights are not so far in vogue among Pashtuns and Pashtunland is a hub of terrorism, violent extremism, obscurantism and fundamentalism. USA and the developed must intervene in this situation to save Pashtuns from further degeneration and at the same time to save the world from the terrorism and extremism growing on Pashtunland.
If the developed world ignore Pashtuns then this will be a colossal catastrophe for Pashtuns, the USA and the world at large. Its in the national interest of USA and others to adopt neoconservative and interventionist policies in Pashtunland which will be a win-win situation for both Pashtuns and the world. If we lose interest in Pashtun affairs then this will be a true loss for both Pashtuns and the world.
