This is a complex issue and you have to look at it from different dimensions. First of all what kind of help ?
Military Warfare ? ..nope
Guerilla Warfare ? ..Unlikely, since majority of the Taliban factions are tied down in Afghanistan fighting NATO and what not and ANA as of right now cannot so much as step outside of kabul without NATO covering them.
The better questions is what can they NOT do...simple if they not let India sponsor backdoor insurgencies in Pakistan. It is highly unlikely that the current Afghan Intelligensia plans on stopping that anytime soon.
Moreover there cant be any war between India and Pakistan, both countries know that incase of any eventuality things will escalate very quickly and none of them are willing to pay the price for it.
The best they can do is what they are doing right now, sponsor terror across the border through whatever means necessary. And here unfortunately Afghanistan is being used as a battleground, and most of it is Afghanistan's fault. As much hard it is to admit, The Taliban were Afghanistan's own doing..Whatever is happening there today is its own doing. Extreme disunity between the northern areas and the Pashtun majority, no centralised form of governance, no strong institutions, failure of Afghan leaders to counter and solve internal issues that plagued the country long before the talibs came are the reason Afghanistan is where it as it today. Blame Pakistan all you want for "meddling" in Afghanistan, reality is Pakistan only put its support behind the Taliban because of they anti-Pakistan rhetoric of previous Afghan establishments. Agreed Pakistan has no buisness meddling in Afghanistan's affairs but that argument is void if you let anti-Pakistan elements run the show there and how could you not expect Pakistan to take appropriate measures to safeguard its own interests ?
At this point, my argument has derailed from the question that was asked, but the point i was trying to make was that Afghanistan can only help Pakistan if it is stable and without ethnic disfunction, right now it is plagued by disunity between tajiks and pashtuns and what not. You guys need to forget about your past and unite for a future and get rid of all these foreign players. Its in best interest of Pakistan to help unite Afghans and ensure that a friendly government is established there, for that to happen Afghans will have to let go of there obsession of watching Pakistan disintegrate and move on to more pressing matters, Afghanistan's own identity is one of them. Likewise Pakistan needs to stop backing up the taliban, but again that can only happen if India gets out of Afghanistan.
All of the above is sort of a utopian scenario, but peace is achievable; only thing is we have to give way to love in our hearts for eachother. where hatred and disdain has so powerfully blinded us to the real solutions for this conflict.
Oh and a shout out my kandahary friends, no matter happens i know they got our back and we theirs
