Of course all news is useful, thanks Admin Khan for your many informative posts.

I wonder if i used to know some of this family. There was a Dr Ludin in Peshawar who had a surgery centre for Afghan casualties of the Soviet war. This might be a relative.

Regardless, though, this man's eyes are not good. Terrible, in fact. That's not Admin Khan's fault, but speaking the truth is necessary for future generations of readers.

Why don't we all pray for the RIGHT people to help Afghanistan in every constructive, lasting way ? Just an idea so that God can arrange everything

      I am not thinking negative.

I am being vigilant against General Petreaus' propaganda war. You as a journalist should have picked up the smell of it.

The only way for people to choose whether they want to be ruled by a Shariah Law or a Social Contract is to simple educate the masses and allow them to choose.

When a choice is informed it will withstand and natural or un-natural disaster.

            Ameen. Thank you.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

shariah law is another form of social contract.

If you study Leviathan, Lockes two treaties and Rousseau's social contract you would have known that all three theories support the role of a law giver. And this law giver in our social contract is Allah and his messenger.

So basically, Shariah is a social contract.

In fact, a great example of Shari'i social contract is the Constitution of Madina

Its not like Admin Khan said thank God the American exists for building us schools. Believe me or not Americans have spent billions in reconstruction its just that the Afghans have pocketed most of it. But thanks to the London conference 50percent of the money will now go to Afghan Govt rather than NGOS.
my field of study is public policy and reconsturction in Afghanistan.

As far as I know, all these stories of schools and hospitals are nothing but lies.

Those schools collapse within a few months, hospitals become useless because of all the defects and sometimes, schools are inaugurated that don't even exist.

But people like to see things they want to see.

Yes, I am very much familiar with everything you have just mentioned. However, what do you do when the Law fails? Who do you protect the people or the Law?

If it was Dadullahs Suicide bombers high school for young boys it would look more acceptible for these Taliban supporters.

I think its a gr8 step for the development of Afghanistan. Obviously Mullahs will oppose it because they dont want to see a progressive and developed Afghanistan.

                      Kind Regards

                        Re Sangar:
                        Me too! Unbelievably familiar.
I'm sure it's the same Ludin family now, as they were from Logar, I didn't see that til just now.

Another brother was an Afghan Army colonel or about to be promoted to colonel under the Sovs. He defected and I happened to be introduced to him in Peshawar and wrote about him in a major article. He saw it and got in contact once he emigrated to the US.
I was just thinking he probably went back to Afghanistan to work for Americans, because he was teaching Pashto at the Monterey Defense Institute for language training. Then he vanished a few years ago, must have been to help the American effort in some way.

So it would make sense one of the brothers of the family or other relatives would also be given a job in the American setup./.

The documentary looks great, I'll watch as soon as I have an hour, thanks!

Admin Khan gave us this great news lets cherish it.
i am not in logar. But I have my sources. And let's say, most of the reconstruction jobs and these phony buildings who suppose represent schools and hospitals are nothing but a scam. The NGO's charge governments millions for building something that doesn't even cost a few thousand dollars to build. The money goes to the owners of NGO's the school collapses or is burnt by American PsyOps.

And more money is poured in to build new schools.

Meanwhile the people stay illiterate and Taliban get all the blame.

If it is not the Law then the people implementing the Law are corrupt. Then it just goes to show that the Law still needs to be interpreted.

No. You are wrong. The law itself is given to us as a benchmark. If we manage to imrpove ourselves as human beings then we succeed. If we fail, then it is due to our own weakness. Be it corruption or lack of faith.
This law is applicable to an individual on a personal level. And likewise for the society as a whole.

Human beings who have managed to improve themselves by applying the divine law to themselves can become better individuals and if a collective of such individuals are succesful in becoming good Muslims by adopting Shariah, they could create a society based on Shariah.

When a person fails to adopt shariah, and his community is likewise corrupt and misguided, then obviously you wont see shariah being implemented as it should.

But the struggle and the desire to do so is the test. Some people die before even perfecting their faith. Others become Muslim rulers who claim to rule by Shariah but are no where near it.

Allah judges people by their intentions. Suppose you become a muslim and want to implement shariah on yourself, in other words, praying 5 times a day etc.... before you have even reached other stages, you might die. But since you had the sincere desire to achieve this goal, you will be granted paradise.

But a person who becomes a king and never achieves to give his people justice, then he is failed and will probably burn in hell.

I am pretty sure that Shariah Law is not limited to the 5 daily prayers.

Nonetheless, you missed what I said. I am not insulting your Shariah Law. I am questioning the implementers. They failed Afghanistan with their interpretation. See the difference? Law is always subject to interpretation.

If Shariah Law is supreme, as you have alluded to, then your interpreters need to change. Otherwise, the condition and plight of the Muslim will remain the same.
