That's your own PERSONAL narration , framed around your beliefs; there is no evidential or logical construct which corroborates this narrative. The reason you want to see it as abuse is to comfort your own warped cultural views where you see women being subjugated and forced to do sexual acts as a normal way of life

I see in the West, I don't see Western men protecting their women, I see the western legal system allowing women the right to empower themselves and choose their own decisions. Not allowing others to directly coerce them. If you want to argue that western women are "manipulated" into making those decisions, I may agree with you.

But EVEN then, that's superior to being FORCED into marriage and thus being FORCED into sex,as these women STILL have a choice.

grasping for whatever social downfalls exist in the West doesn't change that for women the West is better off than Pashtun society.

Well with rape studies BOTH in the West and outside, they go by sample spaces, I think there is a sufficiently large sample space to determine whether these young girls being married off are consenting or not.

what on earth are you talking about now?
so, bars and alcohol selling establishments are built so that men can get innocent females drunk, in?

if a female in the west does not know that drinking alcohol MAY get you drunk and you, may not know what you are doing or you may be taken advantage of whilst intoxicated, then she unfortunately, is already mentally deficient.

people are still capable of knowing what they are doing and making decisions, depending on how much they have drunk.

Everything in this issue lies on the consent from both sides, a key to this problem is obviously this.

They choose to enter or not enter those institutions; no one makes them go. They're aware that their inhibitions will be lowered Everyone knows what to expect. It's not morally right but they choose it for themselves so injustice cannot be invoked

You're presenting a false dichotomy here; the RIGHT to CHOOSE is what's morally right, not the action itself necessarily.

Dude your source in reality is talking about arranged marriages. I need evidence on how this number of 80% was concluded. It is impossible for this number to correlate to forced marriages.

Excuses excuses; and if Rainn.com can be used by you as "evidennce" so can this; they use statistical data in the same way; equal level.

Your denial in this issue is simply Pashtun ego buddy

how would these samples release their information/story to an organisation? even if some these samples manage to get their story out, i doubt its a large sample space.

Im not denying forced marriages do happen, but this figure is exagerated, also you clearly have a limited understanding of Afghan culture if you say non consensual marriage means rape, as your missing the core principle that non consensual marriages are ACCEPTED they accept growing up and marrying a spouse they have no decision over, wheres your proof that the sexual activity was non-consensual?? or was there a survey done that asked women on their sexual lives.

You deviated my question by showing me a picture? well done, but again: a big percentage of boys are married off to girls they dont even fancey or are attracted to, so tell me, they are also raped no????

It's done by some sort of mathematical technique called linear interpolation. based on frequency of events, they can infer how often something occurs

same thing is done with rape statistics in the U.S. which Khushal quoted.

The picture should answer your question; these guys are not being forced, they're too old to get forced into marriages.

before you make core threads on Afghans first go and live in Afghanistan and youl find its not just old men, its also young boys that barely mature which are forced into marrying some girl that theyv never seen or their obese cousin. or is your survey just on young girls forced to marry old men?

Oh really, you're from Pakistan ...and you've been to Afghanistan?

by all means give me your data since you've been there and somehow you concluded that I haven't

Iv got family in Afghanistan and yes iv lived there aswel as KP. I conclude that you havent because of the lack in basic understandings of Afghan social practices that you have in your speaches, for example, thinking that Afghans that hold hands with each other are homosexuals, nobody that has actually lived in Afghanistan would say that, its a common practice that has nothing to do with homosexuals. You also fail in making force marriages synonymous with sexual activities in marriage, again if you lived in Afghanistan you would understand that this is a common practice forced upon males aswel as females, you put your bold views accross and use the rape word as if every girl on her wedding night is raped or forced to do something she is not willing to do, like i said before there are times were the male has no attraction to the girl at all so what happens?.. then you come up with statistics of rape, a pashtun girl just married would never wake up the next morning and tell people shes been raped, these practices are alien to western culture agreed but you speak of it as if your alien to pashtun culture.

For a pashtun girl in Afg or KP to say 'i picked my husband' 'zama meera wo' or even to boast about liking her husband prior to marriage is considered shameful, even if they cant wait to marry the guy they still act as if they are being forced, its tradition. you fail to understand this which is why im certain you have no first hand experience in living amoungst your own people because you wouldnt make a thread saying that 70% of your own men rape their women. There is no denying all your views are from a western perspective.

Your absolutely correct. It is customary for the girl to cry on her wedding day since she is leaving her family even though she could be happy. If she shows her happiness, then people conclude that she hated her own family or that she is loose and is looking forward to intimacy.

                                @Schimitar/revolution
Dude this is a different culture, it is a different perspective. If everyones perspective was the same, culture shock would not exist. The western culture is just as weird to the easterners as vise versa. Just ask your brotherhood superstar Qutb.
