Afghanistan would be a stabel and les corupt after about 40 years, and only if in those 40 years there will be peace and stability an no war.
The problem is not corruption here. Corruption is just a result of a failed basis of nation building and that is that no leader of the past was able to establish a common identity in Afghanistan. Instead, ethnicities were politized. Today, those marginalized people take adventage of the past politicians and their acts. No Uzbek will ever allow any Pashtun to come and take any natural resources of their region. There will be at least one warlord that will stop them.

Don't worry Nokia the problem of the warlords can be solved easaly in the time of the communist regime most of the warlords lost there power, if only a normal goverment whith a strong leader comes to power those animals gona loose again there power. And if the US an Pakis stops feeding them, they will die out.

I know the Shahrani family personally and have met them in Indiana. They have some very good members of their family who are honest. However, a few years back the younger Shahrani was under investigation for corruption charges. Reportedly, he claims to have rebutted the charges and said that they were drummed up by Fahim's brother. Here is a wikileaks cable about the incident:

            http://www.aftenposten.no/spesial/wi...cle4013587.ece

            http://www.afghan-bios.info/index.ph...=1748&Itemid=2

"In late 2010 reports indicated that he was under investigation by the inspection division (led by deputy attorney general Rahmatullah Nazari) for accepting bribes, though he denied all such charges, and agreed that it might have something to do with his arguments in favor of shutting down the division. Overall, he is said to seen as a "reformer" by Western authorities"

Also Mr Shahrani does not appear to discuss the fact that Iranian fuel lines have been a matter of intense debate and that they supply a reasonable portion of Afghan oil... hence the worry and tone of this Wash Post article:

Iran intensifies efforts to influence policy in Afghanistan - The Washington Post

"Sebghatullah Sanjar, who heads the Republican Party of Afghanistan, said the Iranian government in recent years has cut off fuel imports to Afghanistan during the winter and threatened to deport tens of thousands of Afghan refugees from Iran.
“They use this to pressure the Afghan government,” said Sanjar, who is also a policy adviser to Afghan President Hamid Karzai but said he was not speaking for the government. “They know the Afghan government cannot take all those people back.”

So this is why one should never trust any bit of news generated by the corrupt and very fallible Karzai government. Folks who were failures abroad and are now supposedly running Afghanistan know full well that if the American guns go in 2014... they better be on the next plane to dubai. For that reason, they are furiously generating false reports like this in the hopes of showing the international community that they are not in the following laughable predicament:

            1) Taliban control of Afghanistan for 10 years ---> apparently went badly even though the UN and every country in the world except Qatar and Pakistan sanctioned them

            versus

            2) The whole world is paying Karzai for 10 years ---> to keep a welfare anchor baby state alive but all he has generated is a few pockets of green zone style progress that deteriorates right when its given over to this lackeys:

U.S.-funded infrastructure deteriorates once under Afghan control, report says

"U.S.-funded infrastructure deteriorates once under Afghan control, report says"
