Community Service

Do you all do community service where you live? Why or why not?
If you do, what types of community service do you do?
Do you have any suggestions?
Any interesting & creative ways of doing community service?


Here are some of my recommendations:
-Help organize donated clothes at the homeless shelter
-Help raise money for many of different causes
-Volunteering at a daycare
-Help clean (outside) a camp for children who are dying ()
-Help clean (outside again; eg. rake, plant, pull out weeds etc.) a home for others who are sick and dying ()

I personally don't think that's okay at all. Just because you hate the politics, and maybe a lot of Americans are this & that, doesn't mean you shouldn't think of all americans as humans. I'm sure there are MANY americans that are muslims... You consider them humans don't you? Even if they are not humans, even if they are the worst people ever, i think you should still consider them as humans. We are Allah's creation, who are we to say who is or who is not human :S

why should we help arrogant, ignorant, stupid people when our own muslims need help? these people's average yearly income is over $40,000 dollars, while in afghanistan its less than $1,000.

we have no obligation to help people who's annual military budget is nearly 1 trillion dollars.

I never said we should be helping Americans over Muslims. All i said was Americans are humans too.
Not all of them are arrogant.
Not all of them are ignorant.
Not all of them are stupid.
The average may be $40,000.. but obviously there are still many homeless, & poor people.
If I could walk down the street, fold some clothes, give out some food, help the children, clean up places, all for Afghanistan and other Muslims, i most definitely would. Unfortunately it's not that easy, but we still try. But it is that easy to go down the street and do these things for other humans so why not try to help them as well?

why should we do community service for so-called needy americans when they have every opportunity to get a freaking job? most homeless americans are addicted to alcohol and drugs and bring the negative situation upon themselves willingly and knowingly. moreoever, there is no need to help and assist a people who voted in support of illegal wars in afghanistan, supporting the killing and destruction of our people.
