At first I thought that that was the case because Istanbul is a metropolis, but even for a metropolis, it was absolutely awful. The people in Athens were much more friendlier and warmer. But beautiful city nonetheless and definitely deserves a visit.

I don't know too and wouldn't want too.
But as we have more and more refugees from Syria, I can say that Turkish government do all their best to make them live well (though I don't know the reason).. even those family gets money like salary.. In some cities there are tent camps. And our relief foundations try to help them in terms of food, clothes etc.. of course government or foundations may not help each person I mean cannot reach everbody..
Also we have Chechens, they lived really in a bad situation. I went, see their homes, conditions but nowadays I heard that thr government send them to a different city they will live in apartments.. (however our government fails in politics to help Chechens)..

Most recent days Iraqi people are coming to Turkey. Surprisingly it's increasing. For example: the city I live is very very small city with a lot of natural beauties with a few people but nowadays in everywhere even in our neighborhoods, we see them. Even in every apartment it's possible to see them in the street we have to be friend as they are so many and the city is small )
A few weeks ago, auhorities declared the foreigners' number. In this city (I live) at the top is Iraqi and second is Afganistan people..
Of course when compare with Europe, here cannot be so perfect, or best.. But when compare with east it's better I think
I don't know beurocratic barriers or advantages too

            What a prejudice!
            I'm Turkish.

And then your second question will be 'why are you here' ?

As partly Torkham said, having Ottoman anchestors ( who had ruled over three continents in the history) of course we're proud of that..
And who is not proud of his/her ancestors or nationality or country..
                  You're not
English peopel ruled an empire were the sun never set, plus it started the industrial revolution and not to forget all the great minds it produced, but I still find them to act normal and accept criticism about there country.

what did Otoman emprire give to the world? Can you tell me something of there o so great rule?
You can love your country but there is a line, and Turks nationalism looks more like a desease than anything else.

i don't think your parents are proud of you either.

ok over the line but lol come on.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
