Here few more I would like to share with PF.

The first photo taken from 7th floor of a hotel in the Sultan Ahmet area which is hill top, where the Blue Mosque is also located. What you are seeing is the river and on the other side is Asia part (I might be wrong will have to check that) of Istanbul. The other photos are heart of Istanbul - Taksim area. I will post some more of that area.

I only like to visit places where I know the local language, otherwise being a stupid tourist and walking around is not my thing.

The only real reason to visit Turkey for me would be to see the Islamic relics in the Topkapi Palace.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Why is that? Do you think by seeing those relics you'll become a better person and your life will change for the better?

Is that what you get out of traveling and mingling among the natives? lmao

Where did I say I travel? where?

The only reason I travel is to meet relatives.

Turks are mentally not on the same developed state as most other people. Their ancestors came into history only a thousand years ago so their brains are not fully cooked yet.

LOL Tell that to a turk, he would eat you alive :P.

Turkey is beautifull country, only there nationalism is really scary sometimes, like for real. They act as if Turkey is some holy land and one remark and they go crazy.

Their nationalism has credence if you consider the realm of padshai osmaniya aka ottoman empire (or more recent, the ambitions of Atta Turk), Of course empires decline (where is the roman empire now?) and sentimentality fuels their hollow passions.

Apart from that turkey is quite mixed up, muslim and secular, with Israel and against Israel, proud and nationalistic yet wanna be europeans, oppressive to kurds and supporting the syrian 'rebels'.

Apart from that, beautiful masajid and museums of islamic artifacts, a beautiful country, some of the most beautiful women, captivating and world leading tv dramas, and beautiful women, amazing confectionery . . .

Yeah I would eat him alive too :P

As partly Torkham said, having Ottoman anchestors ( who had ruled over three continents in the history) of course we're proud of that..
And who is not proud of his/her ancestors or nationality or country..
                            You're not

Istanbul is obviously a beautiful city, but I am not a fan of the inhabitants of the city. It took me 10 freakin minutes before I was scammed by a taxi driver. Everywhere you go, there is somebody ready to take advantage of you. Also, most people that I encountered were quite rude. At first I thought that that was the case because Istanbul is a metropolis, but even for a metropolis, it was absolutely awful. The people in Athens were much more friendlier and warmer. But beautiful city nonetheless and definitely deserves a visit.
