Bhutan is changing a lot last years! But i liked the face of the old Bhutan - for me it was a dream country

      Congratulations for the victory brothers!

What was it exactly again? World Cup qualification match?

I still remember how we (Iraq) won the AFC Asian Cup back in 2007. It meant a lot for the country because of the situation. Now we have Zico as manager (if anyone know him) He apparently once was a very good footbaler for Brazil.

I hope the football success can give you country some happiness as well.

Woohoo, Bilal Aerzou is really good striker for Asian standards. This tournament has showen that if given proper facilities and diet, we can compete at a good level. Nepal is a good team and have beaten us but lets hope with can win this time with our improved team. Our players are quite big physically compared to other team in south asia and we should use this to our advantage. We should use our height to score from corners and freekicks.

What has this comment to do with anything?

As of matter of fact we were in the World Cup before. In 1986.

Can I ask you a question? Are you the double of Amir-Communist? You always praise each other comments everywhere.

Strange if you ask me considering your being a Pakistani nationalist and Soldat-Communist being the exact opposite.

Your trolling towards everything Arab is also strange and much similar to him.

Many of these South Asians are short which works against them in a sport such as football.

We have a very good team.
Some players who stand out to me:
Qazizadah. Has a great ability to sprint down the right hand side of the pitch giving strategic passes.
                    Arezou. Great striking capability.
Sharityar. Great all round defender. Plus I like his hair.
Mashriqi. Top midfielder. Gets into the right positions.
All of the players have their own qualities, it is good to see them mould together as one team.

Our team has a great technical ability.
The passes were good & frequent, both short-range & long passes.
                    The tackling ability is great.
We are good at keeping possession.
                    We have some decent playmakers.
                    Our defence is really good.
Our midfielders are dedicated and can get the ball into the right place for the strikers to do their job.

The physical ability of Afghans in general makes football an ideal sport. South Asians have to really rely on cricket but we can concentrate on both sports. It's just that we need the right conditions at home to allow football to develop. Nevertheless, in the future I can see us progressing very well.

Certainly we will be in the world cup. It is only a matter of time.

It was sad though seeing a stadium with a capacity of 60,000 being filled with maybe a hundred people.
Even when the host nation was playing, few came out to see. Most if not all the supporters there were for the Afghans.

                        I don't think ^^
in asia, generally, in world cup, only Japan, South korea, north korea and teams like iran, saudi arabia Irak can go in world cup

                        @ HARIS
They are short.... So what ?
Lionel MESSI , the best player of football now is very very very short .....
Many placers of FC BARCELONA, are short, but its the best team in the world and probably in the history football
Look at Spain ( world champions ), players like Xavi, Iniesta or Villa are verrrrry short

So you can be short to win the world cup football , it's more good to be short in football in offensive side

                        Football is not basketball lol

Short people cannot reach headers properly, when the ball is in the air, they are at a disadvantage. In tackling they are at the disadvantage, in goal they are at the disadvantage. What benefit does one get from being short? Being too tall is not good either since you have a different centre of gravity.

Of course you will get good players who are short just as you will get good players who are tall.

Height has nothing to do with skill. But you can use your height to your advantage. That is what I am saying we need to do and is what we have already done, which is why it has worked against these other South Asian teams.

In this match against Bhutan for example, their goalkeeper let in a few goals which he could have saved if he was taller & the long legs of some of our midfielders helped us to tackle more frequently. It was obviously not the only factor, but it was a factor.

Anyway the Afghans aren't exactly giants. Most of them are average height.

The thing that makes me happy is, we have many more soccer players ready to be dispatched. Many of my other Mashriqi friends here are just as good as Yousef(arguably better) and they just can't wait to serve. For those wondering what "Mashriqi" is, they are Pashtuns from the city of Kandahar who hail from the Mohammadzai tribe. Some here are playing for prestigious clubs, and just right now at the mosque we discussed the game. The game could've ended 20-0 or worse, had a few of these others guys left, what prevented them from leaving was College. Honestly, some of the local Afghan clubs here are probably better than the national team we have right now. Believe me when I say we have some talent here, waiting to be dispatched at the right moment. I love the fact that the team has all major ethnic groups and provinces. It's screams nothing but unity.

And, this is just NY I am talking about.(The NY soccer club is most successful in the Afghan tournament). Also, there are many extremely talented players from the Bay area, and Europe. In fact, there are some Afghans in Germany that are extremely good players. The future is looking bright.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
