                • I predicted the Pakistani loss a few days ago. The Indian team just looked a bit more organized. Pakistan was all over the place. Poor batting, poor fielding, etc. Some are blaming Mesbah, some are blaming Abdul Razzaq, I guess the pointing finger game begins now.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                      • Missed most of it, but Pakistan did fairly well considering they were playing away. Could have gone either way, but home support probably pulled India over the line.

That's the ICC for you. They'll be making a lot of competitions in India now because of the money it makes for them. Pakistanis should turn to other sports. Cricket is so colonial.

Donkeyrunner, seriously what are you, you an American agent sent here to cause trouble because frankly you don't seem to have a clue about anything? In India they really look down on the Dalits and many other tribes who are considered "lower class".

You get the same in Punjab, my family are mixed Punjabi so I know what I'm talking about. If you in fact are Punjabi/Indian explain why groups like musallee(musicians), kaswe(tailors), mochi(shoe makers) and others are looked down on really badly, they are considered the **** of the earth by the "higher" castes like Raja, Choudhury, Malik and Sayed. When you all look and act the flipping same!

so now the truth is coming out. It makes sense given your Gandhi thread. You're Indian quite clearly, I would wager you look like Atal Vajpayee. Anyway, not a problem for me.

In Pakistan there are people from all groups that look down on others. One group is not superior as such to any other group. In India, or rather Hinduism, one group of people have been designated as superior to others. That is the caste system, not pompous fools looking down on a different group due to their arrogant nature. Some tailors, for example, will look down on some musicians in Pakistan, but the same will be true of some musicians looking down on some tailors. That is not a caste system.

Another sore loser here! You're just unwilling to admit that India outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game. Not a huge difference between the two teams but India were the better team either by their own efforts or by taking advantage of Pakistan's follies.

Cricket is so colonial because India makes the most money for ICC? It does contribute to about 80% of the revenues so it's natural that it will have an influence on ICC's affairs.

                              • I'm not a sore loser. I didn't even watch most of it. But India were bowled out cheaply in my view. It wasn't a difficult score to get. Perhaps the wicket was designed to get worse as the day went on by the groundsmen so India batting first helped. But 260 was a very gettable total.

Of course India does contribute most revenue to cricket due to the population size, and that is why India will have many more home advantage world cups I think. I do see cricket as a bit of a colonial relic.
