Great game yesterday. Not a high scoring one as the start indicated but tension filled like all Indo-Pak contests. I think Pakistan crumbled under pressure. Their fielding came unstuck at the most important game of the WC. You cant give 4 chances to a player like Sachin even though Sachin was playing the worst I have ever seen him play in the last 15 years.
But great bowling from Wahab Riaz. Loved his spirit. What Pakistan needs is consistency and responsibility. Younis, Misbah, Afridi being senior players cant bat the way they did. They should know when to curb their instincts and soak in the pressure. Or conversely not get too bogged down and rotate the strike.
India misread the pitch but luckily that didnt backfire as Nehra bowled his heart out. The bowling unit came out well and the fact that they took 2 wickets each showed the team effort.
A word about the attitude and on-field behavior. I think Pakistani players were in general much better behaved than Indians. I mean they were more composed and none of them could be seen mouthing expletives at the other team, unlike the Indians. I was actually embarrassed lip-reading Munaf's abuses when he got Hafeez's wicket. These guys are supposed to be role models for millions of kids and they should try and be graceful.
First of all congrats to the Indians for winning, they've kept up the track record of beating Pakistan in a world cup every time lol. For a team which is composed of favours from the "higher ups"(PCB) it didn't play too bad. I will only truly support Pakistan when they bring in a team of which players are really decent. From a country with population of 250 mil+ and a cricketing mad nation is that all they could conjure for their team? Where is Yasir Hameed, Imran Nazir, Mohammed Yusuf, Anwar Ali, Taufeeq Umar and many other good players. Anwar Ali had so much talent in the U19 world cup he should have been shifted into the Pakistan team straight away. From what I've seen if the players don't have their backing they won't play for Pakistan. Even if they do, they make one mistake then they are instantly out of the team. Mohammed Yusuf is a player of such calibre he should have been a shift into the team without question. But because of the stupid caste system in Pakistan they treated him like dung.
India was expected to win, they had cut the grass...ground was like marble floor, ball was running towards ground with slight shot. And ground was so small for a semifinal.
I thought india would score above 300, but as usual they did'nt make use of last ten overs. I think india did'nt bat well. With so much poor batting of pakistan, dropping of half dozen catches and flat pitch, they should have achieved huge score. But i think they were under pressure.
Pakistan bowling was good and pakistan did a great job by restricting india to 260. But the problem was batting. When our two openers did'nt score, i was already of opinion that pakistan had lost semifinal. India deserve to win against such inconsistant team.

Luffy you started off there talking like a sore loser! The Mohali ground is quite a big ground. I have been there. Much bigger than many other sub-continental grounds.
And whats this talk about non-deserving of a semi-final? Its a beautiful ground. And tell you what. Wasim Akram mentioned on air before the toss that Mohali was one of his favorite grounds. For a Pakistani great, he does like small grounds, doesnt he?
And what about the grass? Was it that the grass was short for the Indian batting innings and it grew a couple of innings when Pakistan came out to bat? If you'd have followed all the news around the match, you'd have read that the grass was deliberately cut finer to reduce the impact of the dew in the second innings.
I agree with the rest of your post but you surely are finding faults where there are none. Take it gracefully.

Pakistan needs to sort out its stuff in the PCB. A good administration is a prerequisite for a consistent team.
The PCB are all about themselves and so corrupt, they always have been.
You know I dont want to read too much into it but looking at Pakistan (and many other teams actually) it so fits how sports represents a nation's state of affairs. Pakistan cricket team and the cricket set up is overflowing with talent, especially in the bowling dept. But their administration lets them down every time. Similar to the case with the country. A country filled with so much natural resources and potential is embroiled in its internal mess. And their leaders fail them with coups and Zamindars and whats nots.
I could draw similar comparisons with Indian cricket as well, but I'd leave that to the Pakistanis here.
^ Haha, agreed Khalsa (Congratulations btw) the management spoiled the talent of many players like an example is Shoaib Akhtar !! Well the management also need to keep a good check on the guys of the team as they know that these players mostly come from a very poor and illetrate background so they need to keep an eye on them regarding the fixing affairs plus that Opium affair of Asif , like why he was not stopped right at the air port in pakistan? .. So these are the things that need to be noticed ..
