Yes you are right Pakistan hasn't been consistently performing well, and that is a true worry for us since we are trying to put together a good team. However, even with in its current lethargic form the Pakistani team poses more than a threat to any other team. Our weakpoint is our fielding and atleast we have a commitment towards improving it, and going a bit farther its akmal who is costing us big time..which helps because if it is just one factor you can improve on that.

T20WC we had austrailia in the semis but akmal dropped Hussey's catch, match against Sri Lanka ? we beat them but still we could have finished them off earlier had it not been for those dropped catches similarly you have new zealand.

Rule out Pakistan at your own peril, and do let me know if your captain agrees with your assessment.

Again you miss the point Talal. You seem to get overly emotional. I am talking about series and not just one-off games. Yes, India lost to Bangladesh but I didnt mention that at the same WC, Pakistan lost to Ireland, a non-test playing nation.

And I don't mean to discount Pakistan. They are a threat precisely because they are unpredictable. They are a talented side and you never know when Afridi would mix up his leggies and snare 5 of your batsmen for 20 runs or blast a match-turning 50 off 20 balls. And you never know if Gul and Shoaib will fire in the precision yorkers like guided missiles or if Ajmal would trap you with his doosras.

And I am aware that Pakistan has a better record against India. But as I said originally, Pakistan has been in the downhill in the past 10 years. I was talking about their recent record. If you compare you'll find that India has been the better team recently.

its all about consistency... and anyone in their right mind wouldn't compare an inconsistent batsman (afridi), with a superstar, consistent batsman (tendulkar)...
