More like, "used to be one of the best on the world". They have got talent but neither a good system to manage it nor brains to apply it. Apart from their T20 WC victory 3 years ago, they have nothing to show in the last 10 years. No test away series wins against top3 teams and no ODI series wins.

Well i would call the NewZealand series a comprehensive win, other than that they can still win or lose any match any given day.
All in all considering all the conspiracy that usually surrounds them in one form or other they have fared pretty good. This Newzealand match was a sure win had it not been for akmal so i wouldnt quite toss them out yet, winning ODI tournaments is one thing WC is a different ball game
India is looking though, hot favorites in my opinion but it depends on how they fare against south africa and sri lanka (if they face them in the QF)
It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

Ghusa pa dey raazi che da dey tor makhee na dvee ghwari sa? why not they replace him with Junaid Khan? Shoaib is a bowler who can bowl well only the first 2-3 overs and later "zjaba ye baar rawatey vee" lol....sta khabara chakey pa har bowler lagee kho daasey na.......da' kho warla kaaki warkawl.........I just hate this charsi.......Pakis should give a chance to the new talent.....au daa raata waya daa Junaid khan ye daghalta modling la botaley dey??????

NZ were beaten by Bangladesh as well. I was talking more in respect to a top 3 team. Pakistan have figured no where. Neither have they finished in the top 3 rankings of ODIs or Tests nor have they ever beaten a similar ranked team in a series. I believe that is the real determinant of a top team. You have to consistently beat top teams. Not in in one-off games, but series.
And true, Pakistan haven't had the best of circumstances. Nobody wants to play in their country. But the players have been involved in all sorts of misdemeanors, from drug abuses, to ball biting and spot-fixing. The latter is only the player's or the board's fault.

And as i recall India was knocked out of worldcup by Bangladesh ? then again so was Pakistan but i dont wanna go nitpicking here and yes we did beat them i.e. Newzealand in their backyard
Yes you are right Pakistan hasn't been consistently performing well, and that is a true worry for us since we are trying to put together a good team. However, even with in its current lethargic form the Pakistani team poses more than a threat to any other team. Our weakpoint is our fielding and atleast we have a commitment towards improving it, and going a bit farther its akmal who is costing us big time..which helps because if it is just one factor you can improve on that.
T20WC we had austrailia in the semis but akmal dropped Hussey's catch, match against Sri Lanka ? we beat them but still we could have finished them off earlier had it not been for those dropped catches similarly you have new zealand.
Rule out Pakistan at your own peril, and do let me know if your captain agrees with your assessment.
