you can watch all parts on youtube.

does anyone know what happened to hamid shirzai after this documentary? i have been looking for info on him but cant find anything.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

and that's excessive and hence gross; it's not normal for the body to be that muscular, and it's totally useless.

although there is a dark side when people become obsessed with it and take various steroids and don't know they are destroying their body on the inside. a lot of these kind of guys are ripped to shreds but cant even run half a mile without having a heart attack.

anyways, there is a good documentary on afghan bodybuilding in kabul. i believe its from 2004 so the infrastructure of these facilities are probably better by now.

I'm all for excerise, strength training especially. I use weights and I'm a pretty robust fellow myself. But I'd never want to get that big. It's awkward and your mobility decreases. As you said lot of these guys can't even run a mile without some problems.

I agree with you in the sense that it helps people make productive use of time.

But this is what men should be going for.

        Not this

I think people don't know the difference between Strength Training and Body building. Without Steroids, body builders are not that strong.

I would agree to the contrary that, in many cases, it is men who are self-conscious about their appearance who resort to indulging in this activity. That's why the benefit or harm of an activity must be evaluated based on the intentions with which it is carried out. What usually is the case with bodybuilding is not to simply gain enough strength for self-defensive purposes or maintain good health but to attain a supposedly admirable physique, showing it off in public while uncovering the 'awrah, which includes everything from the navel to the knee of a man. What is usually the case is that bodybuilders become so absorbed in these activity to the point where it becomes a lifestyle and takes up the majority of their time to an unhealthy extent. That time which people argued could save them from crime, can be better spent in freeing their country, praying at the masjid, in school, working, engaging in non-profit activities, etc. Time should be prioritized according to the needs laid down by the society that is lived in.

and most bodybuilders develop it with steroids. .......body building is a useless sport, all you do is pose and flex , you can't do ANYTHING meaningful with all that bulk.

What I believe is that you grow powerful with weight training but you should keep it real.

that's strength training wrora, body building is about bulk, The difference between body building and strength and conditioning is how you train, your diet regimen and also including what types of outside of weight training routines.

Body builders tend not to run much or try to build endurance/stamina; strength trainers do.

more or less; it's not really meant for trying to develop your health.

So many bodybuilders die young because of the stress they put their bodies under.
