Are we talking about dating as in going to the movies ,dinners and being intimate with each other or the mutual agreement between two people who stay committed to each other minus the going out or being physically intimate?
I believe on the latter one.
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.
DaZahroJaam- It's the latter one. It's not the "dating" that we're exposed to here. Its more of a courting process. The girl has a good explanation of it in her article. So, for the people that are against her idea, how do you want to find your future spouse? Just curious, do you guys want arranged marriages? Or just marrying someone, someone else mentions is a good person? I hope I don't sound mean, I'm not trying to be, I genuinely want to know. =)
"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.
Unknown what roadrunner hopefully meant was did this happen in High School? I think there are easier than just jumping on the marriage wagon. We live in a society where marriages break up hours after the couples are pronouced husband and wife. And the thing is, it's hitting the Muslim and Afghan communities. It's no longer, well divorce is not around me. And going back to what Admin Khan said-- I think with today's time and age, you really have to get to know the person you're about to get married to. I understand not wanting to talk to anyone that is not your mahram. But at the same time that doesn't mean you don't speak to him at all. What if you guys have nothing in common? What if he or she turns out to be a jerkface. You really need to get to know your spouse. It's not easy to give up and so many people do. I just think it requires a lot more time and effort to make it work. And if that involves me having to get to know my husband than I will. But at the same time, I'm not going to be hanging out with him alone, being intimate with him and all that jazz. I'd want to have a chaperon, so I can be at peace that I'm not committing a sin or starting a relationship- something new and something that Allah wills in sin.
