I have absolutely no problem with pashtuns marrying tajiks etc in afghanistan. Tajiks and pashtuns are closer to each other than the pashtuns are to punjabis, sindhis etc. But as a result of these close interactions, some behaviourial modifications have arisen in some afghans. One of which is to to lost interest in pashtun unity and refering us as pakistanis even if we introduce ourselves as pashtun to them.

^ Let me tell you something Luffy. Yesterday I was in Dubai at concert organised by Khyber TV. The entertainers - Latif Nangarhari, Rahim Shah, Tariq Hussain, Naghma, Khorshid Jahan, Ismail Shahid, Najiba Faiz represented Lar/Bar.

No-one had a Pakistan flag. No-one. The only flag on show was the Afghan one. Rahim Shah draped the flag over his shoulders and put it over Najeeba Faiz's head. He stood there (and I thought he was very Urduised prior this show) and said that "So what if I was born in Karachi. I am Afghan. No-one can tell me that I am not." The crowd went euphoric. I was gobsmacked, because here you have some-one from the Pakistan mainstream media, on a stage organised by let's be honest, a TV station that promotes a pro-Pakistan agenda, saying these things.

Everyone of the entertainers or spoke about Peshawar/Kabul as if they were one. They changed the words to their songs and poetry to include the words Afghanistan and Pashtunkhwa.

Who says, we are not one?

I have seen even very pakistanized pashtuns to express their natural feelings towards afghanistan. Blood is thicker than water...
the conflict and confusion arises in them when pakistan come in between them and afghanistan.

why do we hate a country??????????????????
country is made up of people.....without people there will be no meaning of a country......all people of a particular country are not bad.....we haven't personally met all people of the countries we are talking about that we hate....in short we generalize based on a few we have met.....whether good or bad.....

and usually our perception is mostly what we hear......and according to me we know a country by its government,, whether good or corrupt....

If Government of Pakistan is corrupt i cant say i hate Pakistan....can i????????????

so on what basis are we talking about hating a particular country........

SOM....u hate India....so u hate Indians toooo as people make a country.......so in short u end up hating all Indian Pahtuns???? do u????? no hard feelings please just a general question......

spogmai khor.....when people say they hate pakistan, they mean the government, army and not necessarily the people, in the end of the day this thread is about hating a country because of its political role

write ..... thats what i am talking about so we cant give a general statement about hating a country....as a country doesn't only comprise of a government but also its people, who might oppose the government..........

^ but the government is supposed to represent the people, i take into account that, thats not always the case but people judge a country by its government and what it does.

Isn't Pakistan afloat precisely because of the USA?

Is Pakistan strong enough (internally) to not start to unravel if the US withdraw aid?

Would the internal separatist movements attempt to gain more influence if there was no US backing and the centre was weaker?

No jazbaatee responses SofM. I'm just a person with questions.
Not going into two much depth lemme just use an example of when Pakistan was pursuing it's nuclear program..we managed it despite all the sanctions didn't we ?

And Tor Khan man let's be fair how much aid do you think US gives us ? 2 billion a year ? You think you can run a 167 million population on that ? No u can't and actually Pakistan would be ableto grow and develop on a much much bigger scale should the US stop enabling the political jagerrdari in Pakistani

But Pakistan has so much potential.. Look at IT eg netsol..our telecomm industry...our textile industry or defense export industry, agriculture tourism natural resources ..look at gwadar and Karachi.. We are selling drones to US and Austrailia for crying out loud..Pakisan despite fighting a war on it's own soil was ranked highest for ease of doing business, higher than India or China...We have the biggest pool of entrepreneurs, massive remittanes from people living in foreign countries

None of these are supported by the US aid but they are limited by it .. The price Pakistan has paid doesn't even come close to what we have sacrificed for this hairbrained war

Then again, did you miss the point about Karzai, flawed, though he may be, as being a Pashtoon president? Maybe there is a disconnect, but then your comments miss this key point too.
hey! you should have got what i meant by liberal.if i had used a word "vulgar" instead then that would have been too harsh.if i am not wrong?
lolz!so you mean if we prefer self display by wearing western costumes and by getting involved into all those things that western society is suffering from, would make us look upto date and all that what a modern and educated society needs.Bro! vulgarity is not the demand of today's world of science.that is something coz of lust not coz of education.well education and intellect cant be related to ballet's.as for seeking knowlegde we does not need to excel in these kinda things that i mentioned.i think we should avoid extremism.
lol....if i am against those things which really doesnt suit pashtun culture and society means i want to cut some ones throat like talibans...that might be your perception.MAN!!!
karzai,he is more an american employee than a pushtun.he cares more about what america wants than what pushtun wants(thats probably the most valid reason for why he is still a president).so whats the benefit of him as a pushthun president.well you think karzai did much for you guys during all these war years and so you got the asylum to visit foriegn countries instead of staying in your own nation.
oh..so security reasons are just an excuse, otherwise you guys are very happy with what had happened to afghanistan and you are completely satisfied with its conditions and environment and you feel safe and sound there. You just took asylum for no special reason but to have a world tour otherwise your country is worth living and there exists no threat to ones life.you mean the stories about horrible conditions of afghanistan are not true.
BTW when in past there were no thalibans,no americans and no russians in afghanistan and when afghanistan was safe and sound from these kinda evil creatures,at those times why pushtuns didnt need this kinda representation to feel like modern people?was there any vulgarity at those times in afghanistan? why these belittle things were not necessary at those times?why in those times for peace we didnt need to practice ballets?why today we need it for our representation and why in past we didnt need it?

lol...not all the things but the things that are practiced nowadays by persioafghanis.i have no problem with english coz language doesnt have any side effect as the actions has.i think the way persioafghanis are representing pushtuns, that is very shamefull...and i am sure still lots of pushtuns in afghanistan are conservative and are still maintaining their traditional values....

hahaha thats where most afghanis are caught in their own words as they themselves call us punjoos and etc etc...thats why i am tryna bring your attention to this issue too...as no one has the right to interfere in some one else's race either if its pure or mixed other wise the other person too has the right to answer.we should not forget this proverb "to each his own"
