  • No response means?

As I am relatively "new" to this forum, I have a question to ask. Sometimes I start threads about thoughts that are twirling through my brain and through my heart. What does it mean, when no one comments? Does it mean that you do not understand where I am? Does it mean, that my thoughts are not relevant to anyone here? Does it mean that you don't feel that a reply is necessary.

I crave dialogue, but being an outsider, sometimes finding the path into your Pashtun world is hard for me. I do not feel comfortable engaging in conversation that I know little about. Sure, I am a searcher, here to learn, so maybe I should refrain from speaking at all?

    Reaching out.....

          Wrora!

Most of my posts that I am thinking of are in the section of "Religion", and apparently some people look at them, but under the replies is very often a big fat 0.

          Just wondering why.........

All of the above. Some of us are sick and tired of being subjects to the RESEARCH of you researchers some of us are too tired to take a pose for you some of us feel invaded and a few of us never have a clue as to what is happening around us. The example for the last claim given above in the scond post made in this thread.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

                  DaZahroJaam-

You make "Research" sound like a dirty word, and I do not think it is really what I am, though I do thrive on learning. I lived in Pakistan and my life is now interwoven with Pakistan. I want to make as few mistakes as possible so I came here to learn, as there is a big difference between living somewhere and understanding the mentality and culture of a place. More to say, but maybe now is not the time....

Research is not a friendly word to use while interacting with people you dont know on a personal level. We are not mice or fugetives.

It was not my word, yet forgive me if I gave the wrong impression. Sometimes I wish it were possible to communicate without speech-as words as beautiful as they can be, often too lead to hurtful misunderstandings, so again I feel I must quote Antione de Saint-Exupery

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

Here is my secret. It is very simple: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

                      Again I am sorry-

                        Zayam Jan,

I am sure it's not that your thoughts are not relevant to anyone here! Indeed they are. Although I seldom post, I adore each and every member here and I try to spend a good deal of my time reading things posted by other members. However, in spite of my overwhelming desire to read all posts, taking into consideration the immense number of posts that appear on this forum on daily basis, what I read is just a tip of the iceberg. And I am sure it's the same with all other members as well.

Also, tastes vary. One needs to understand that not necessarily all members would be interested in the Religion Section.

Now smile, don't lose nerve and continue writing with the same briskness.

If you post in the Religion section, your topic will be buried in hours, so its your job to post in your section so it can bump back up to the list. The Religion section is extremely active and it has a handful of active participants. I have read all your posts and I've been delighted so far. I posted in a thread of yours in which I disagreed with a member. When we agree with a topic, we won't bother just saying ' I agree '. This is a mature site in which we will post and write you an essay if a rebuttal is necessary. Make as many threads as you want and like a member said, post and stay active because we do care and we want you to learn as well as us who want to learn from you. When a topic has no responses, it means either people agree or its on the 2nd page and people didn't see it. Many are already engaged in topics, so they want to finish one topic and begin posting in another. You are welcomed to post anyhing you want and even I will help you.
I don't know how I missed this post! Had I seen it, I wouldn't have bothered to post my reply (above).
