  • Do I look pashtun?

    Salam alikum!

First of all, this is my first post here, so sorry if this is a bit stupid question, but I thought this might be the best place to ask a question like this. Also, thanks for the admins for accepting my registration.

So, I am a 19 year old half-Afghan/Pashtun half-Polish guy. My father's family is originally from Lashkar Gah.
Many people tell me when I tell them that I am half Afghan, that they don't believe it. So I came here to ask you if I look Afghan/Pashtun, or if I was able to blend in if I went to Afghanistan. I have never been to Afghanistan before by the way, but I would like to go there once at least.

So here is a picture of me: https://i.imgur.com/CN3C5hz.jpg

Again, sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance for any answers!

    Dear Salim187,

Firstly, in the interest of full disclosure, we've recently had the onslaught of many troll profiles here, so I'm a bit wary of whether or not you're just another "one" of these troll sock accounts. However, assuming you're not (which we will see after we monitor your antics) I will say the man you posted (if that's you), does look Pashtun, in fact you look as if you could be selling angur (grapes) as a street vendor in the center or Lashkar Gah. However, i will say your look isn't typical for Pashtuns, but if you told me you were. I'd believe it.

But just in case you're Black Pakistani/Killzai who has stolen someone else's picture from anothher forum.

could you post a picture of yourself with a Piece of paper in front of you that says "Salamoona Everyone, Salim187 is Real". Please do this in marker so we can clearly read it.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Awesome, thank you ...sorry I had to make you do that, but we have a creep here that constantly makes new IDs and pretends he's someone else each time.

because being Muslim is at the core of being Pashtun.

Do you identify as Pashtun or Polish or mix of both?

                      Is your dad westernized?

Well, I identify myself as both, but I am closer to the Pashtun side because that culture is more rich and more interesting to me. For westernization: we dont walk around on the streets in salwar kameez or other traditional clothing, and my dad speaks Pashto only at home (not always). But we still hold many traditions, so I'd say we are 50% westernized

Also, the only religion to me is Islam, no doubt (no offense to other religions)

You look mexican, but nt any pahtun i have ever seen. And the nearest coutnry to Afghanistan where you(what i think though) would pass, would be more like Turkey.

Now when in think about it, it's hard for me to tell. Maybe, but just not any pahstun i have seen.

                              Yeah, this comment's edited.
