Why do desis infest pretty much every online space that has anything to do with us to the point where their POV overpowers ours? I know this is a common perception among pashtuns but it exists because its very true. Anything from an innocent curious question to a politically charged observation will have a greater presence from non pashtuns than actual pashtuns. I even showed some of my generally pak nationalist family members the obsession and misinformation/hate we get thrown at us online and even they were pretty weirded out by it. I just don't get why. Its not like we're anything special.

HOW come there are so many millions of desis claiming to be "pathan" more than any other ethnicity? to the point where even discussions about our language/culture will be dominated by them. why is there a bigger ****storm when we are mentioned more that anyone else? why is our identity butchered more than anyone else west of the indus? i honestly want to know because it still baffles me how desperately obsessed some of them are with us. they will claim our culture as their own "desi/indian" culture but at the same time badmouth afghanistan and its people (and pak pashtuns depending on the circumstances) , its honestly disheartening and annoying more than anything else.

When they see an Afghan, they feel ashamed of what they are so their reaction is envy and hate. They want to be Afghan but know they are not so they vilify Afghans at the same time.

Inferiority complex is quite prevalent in many Pakis.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

The forum is infested with common trails of non-pashtun interlopers.

Then there is an obsessive desire of farsi/desi/indic/paki/killzai/karachi/blonde-blue-eye-admirers/stormfront types to be here. There is Afghanforums and Pak Defense for all others to go to.

I am certain all pashtun members know why the non-pashtun end up here, as AdminKhan said, inferiority complex is prevalent in Pakis, further to that I think others are concealing their secret admiration of pashtun with false flag threads.

I joined the thread long ago, 2010, because I found the discussions at the time by members whom I now call mashrano, to be informative, erudite and steeped in academic rigour. That for me made it a learning experience.

So we know the interlopers are attracted to pashtun culture, some disguise it with fantasy connections, some are genuine pashtun members, some of our zwan are trying to reconnect and learn. However we need to move the forum to a better place.

I have not seem the famous and the infamous members who were great contributors from different elements of pashtun society.

I doubt that we have any active "Farsi's" except me and firdousi. And we are definitely not obsessed to be someone else etc.

You Tajik, bro? I always thought you were a Pashtun from Kabul lol Not that it really matters. I can't really tell the differences between my Tajik and Pashtun Kabuli friends except for their surnames.

You are so hot, so cute, so smart, so rich, so Pashtun,.. that we all die to be like you one day God willing lol

Never in my life heard about Tajiks wanting to be Pashtuns. Never. Actually we don't even consider ourselves as the same as our cousins in Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Let alone Pashtuns.

Those Tajik nationalists who join this forum they do it out of hatred or curiosity, not envy. Tajik nationalists hate Pashtun culture to the core. In general most of Tajiks have nothing but indifference toward other cultures in our country. But some of them really like Pashtuns. My dad, for example, has a genuine love for Pashtuns. He always call them "merdom tokhomdaar" ("merdom" means people and "tokhom" means eggs/balls if you guys know what I mean lol) and also most of Heratis consider Pashtuns "mard". But never heard about a Tajik self hater or Pashtun wannabe. Tajiks in other places share this feelings except those in Shamali who are hardcore anti-Pashtuns (I am generalizing a bit for the sake of argument).

So your accusations are a bit out of line. I expect an apology wrora.

I've never met or seen a Tajik that's a wannabe Pashtun, but there are some wannabe ethnic Persians/Iranians. Not a lot, but some of the Pashtun-haters try to distance themselves from us by claiming they're the same as Iranians, and calling us Indians (lol).

Of course there are. I had an argument with a stupid Tajik nationalist from Tajikistan few weeks ago about that. He banned me when I called him "angry mongol" lol

Not a huge fan of that label but calling ourselves "Persian" is actually not far fetched. Although very few of us use it and its pretty obvious most of Tajiks are eastern Iranians and not Westerner, historically people like Ibn Sina, Mawlana, Ferdowsi, Khwarezmi, Biruni, Daqiqi or Rudaki are considered "Persians".

                        Yes bachesh I'm Tajik.
The origin of my family is Surkhrod in Nangarhar but we aren't Pashtuns.

There seem to be like a big Tajik community in Nangarhar. A Shia Tajik friend of mine from Baghlan is married to a Tajik Sunni girl from somewhere near to the Mahipar Dam. Never heard about Tajiks in there, but when I attended their weeding her relatives told me that there were huge pockets between Kabul and Jalalabad.

I forgot these types of Tajiks lol.
A Tajik from Kapisa has more in common with a pashtun from Kunar or Laghman than let's say a Persian from Teheran. It's just ridiculous claiming Persian ancestry.

I don't know the figures but I have still family members living in Laghman and Nangarhar i.e. they have still land and properties in Nangarhar.
They carry surnames like Nangarhary or Laghmani (I think so because my family do so but I'm not sure if all Tajiks of that area have surnames after a certain area/city).
