Never in my life heard about Tajiks wanting to be Pashtuns. Never. Actually we don't even consider ourselves as the same as our cousins in Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Let alone Pashtuns.

Those Tajik nationalists who join this forum they do it out of hatred or curiosity, not envy. Tajik nationalists hate Pashtun culture to the core. In general most of Tajiks have nothing but indifference toward other cultures in our country. But some of them really like Pashtuns. My dad, for example, has a genuine love for Pashtuns. He always call them "merdom tokhomdaar" ("merdom" means people and "tokhom" means eggs/balls if you guys know what I mean lol) and also most of Heratis consider Pashtuns "mard". But never heard about a Tajik self hater or Pashtun wannabe. Tajiks in other places share this feelings except those in Shamali who are hardcore anti-Pashtuns (I am generalizing a bit for the sake of argument).

So your accusations are a bit out of line. I expect an apology wrora.
Accusations? Apology? Are we really gonna die one day, no ****!
Are you Herati or Tajik? I don't know, all I can assume is you admire Firdousi and know you hate pashtun tribalism.

The thread is about desi's and how they end tangled up with pashtunforums. Karachi's reason's have been extracted for love of pashtana, some claim pashtun ancestry as in the other thread about red haired grandmothers. In the same line there are others like the farsi speaking people (I didn't specify ethnicity) who end up here. I too wonder why are non-pashtuns here?
I speculated admiration of pashtun however you claim they are here because of hatred or curiousity or for balsy mardantob; so some ARE here for admiration, others due to curiosity, and some due to hatred; which one are you?

This is an open forum. Internet is a free place. You can not confine people from one ethnic group within some artificial websites. It doesn't make any sense. Some "farsi speaking people" join here in order to troll Pashtuns. Out of hatred not envy. We are going through an sensitive and emotional time. Your post was aimed at Tajiks. It was a bit offensive and absolutely wrong. The main reason why so many Tajiks are right now hating on Pashtuns all over the internet is not out of jealousy or envy but rather because some people from your ethnicity are blowing themselves up in the middle of our cities. You should expect a backlash.

I came here in order to troll you guys because I really hated Pashtuns back then and also a bit out of curiosity because i really expected this place to be a stronghold of Pashtun chauvinism. Oh boy how wrong I was lol. But my opinion and mentality have changed. Now my stance when it comes to ethnicity is neutral. Yeah sometimes when I read comments like yours it pi*s me off, but I try to control and hold myself back.

Actually Laghmani is also common among Pashtuns. Do you remember Abdullah Laghmani, a close friend of Ahmad Shah Massoud? He was a Pashtun. But in general most of Tajiks from eastern provinces have this typical Tajik/Persian surnames: Hakimi, Habibi, Ghassemyar, Ismaelzadeh, and so on.

No serious census has ever been conducted so for now we ignore the ethnic reality of our country. Its actually sad because I really want to know the ethnic %. I really ignored how huge the Pashtun community in Herat was until few years ago because all of them are Persianspeakers and they look exactly like us. I a really curious.

Offcourse some tajik nationalists lump everyone into tajik tobraise their numbers. One of the reasons that they dont want the ID cards even with ethnicity mentioned is because it willbshow them les than 10% .

They moved there at time of civil war. There was a muhajir camp in farm ada where it were mostly farsiwans from kabul. Tahir shabab and family were also in jalalabad for a bit.

              Salam torkham lala
Nowadays punjabis and persian nationalists have same anti pashtun agenda . It wouldnt be strange to see these guys shouting pakistan zindabad when they see a video of napak forces beating some innocent people.

These kinds of people wont even be 1% of tajiks.

You are suffering from inferiority complex and envy Pashtuns. You should stop being like this stop acting like you are superior because of persian language or race. In dari its called خودنمایی . You are also supporting warlords and criminals just because they are tajik.

These guys were natives. They have even a lot of properties all over the place. Tajik Kabuli civilians during civil war used to migrate to Pakistan. Those who were poorer they headed north.

I've never heard a blood related family member speaking pashayi. So no we aren't pashayis.

You mean the head of nds whos dead now?

I'm living in the west and I've never met other Tajiks from Laghman/Nangarhar. So I assumed that they all have surnames like us named after areas.

It's kinda hard to conduct a census because for the most of the parts of the country there's no security, difficult terrain, no infrastructure.

Farsiwan are typically not fascinated with Pashtuns in the sense Indics are. ....even the most hostile Farsiwan or Pan-Iranist is only politically concerned with Pashtuns, ....there's gtypically no bizarre preoccupation with our anthropology or cultural/social relationships that Indic people have.

Although there are Farsiwan who do have an "Indic" flavor to them ....like AfghanFootBall's or KushanPrince and "Aryana" who are kind of have that Indic creeper vibe about them. But, they are an EXTREME minority. But it could be that they're not even Farsiwan and perhaps are Indic.

Azmal/Pakhpaloo is Farsiwan, though he denies it. He also tries really hard to overcompensate forit by posturing as a Hyper Pashtun nationalist and s and how "die-hard" Pashtun he is...though anyone who's known him, can attest that it's a bit phony. He has what I call "Babrak Karmal-syndrome", though to his credit, he's not a commie. Strangely, he also kind of has an "Indic" Boater vibe in his the way he writes and phrases things, though he is definitely from Afghanistan.

Anyhow, people like Azmal are rare. Generally Farsiwan/Tajiks have no interest attached to Pashtuns in some creepy Indic way. It's not this wall to wall out of control weirdness that Indics convey.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Well some of them do have a fascination for Pashtuns. Heratis have crush on Kandaharis. For some reason we get along. Intermarriage is quite common. Plenty of my relatives are married to Kandaharis. My uncle is married to a Shia Tajik girl from Kandahar (ayatollah mohseni type lol)

That's not the same as Indics being fascinated with Pashtuns out of some weird complex. Tajiks and Pashtuns have had cultural ties for better or for worse for centuries. Yes, intermarriage are common and basically has always been that way. Many reputed families among Pashtuns are of Tajik origins. The Sayyids of Kunarh are Tajiks from Uzbekistan really. A distant relative of my father's is married to a Pashto speaking Gardezi Tajik who used to be a Qadi in some area in Ghazni (meaning he's bilingual). No one notices because, the cultural and social differences are very slim except with regards to "tribal" customs and affairs.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."
