Well friends all this depends on your "Tarbiat" .....Pashto has never been my subject throught my academic career....still am good in Pashto Writing ...that's all due to my parents....Here in Pukhtunkhwa lot of people can't write or read pukhto..and pukhto has been mixed with Urdu and english..people feel proud when they speak Urdu ...Pure pukhto speakers are often considered as illetrate and backward....Pukhto has been discouraged here since long ago.....when some people used to say that "Pukhto is the language of hell" and:

When Bacha khan started his compaign of opening schools where pukhto was compulsory and advised the people to respect their language(as angaar quoted) then there was a strong resistance by the then Mullahs...and as you all know that Mullahs in Pukhtun community have a special place and they influence the lives of pukhtun to a greater extent that's why learning/promotion of Pukhto language was very discouraged...and people begin to love Arabi rather than Pukhto....au oss kho daa haal dey chey pukhtunkhwa key tolo scholono key pukhto dera kama khodaley shee ka' sarkari school vee au ka private...noo da haghey nateeja daa da chey pukhtun nawey kull time sara sara pukhto na larey zee....
Anyways in my house my father doesn't allow anyone to speak impure/mixed pukhto and he gets furious when we speak wrong pukhto he always corrects us.....a few days ago my father inquired of me about my little brother that where he was?
i told him : halta Hujrey sara aregee raareegee (هلته حجرې سره اړېږي راړېږي) mean he is just wandering near Hujra....hearing this he got angre and told me that you are not a kid now...so try to speak it correct....he corrected me: not "areegee raareegee but awree rawree......za' der zyat malamata shom....

this is a myth pashtun nationalists are spreading to work on dump pashtuns nerves and increase secularism among Pashtuns.

They have always claimed that religious people are against pashto. This is a lie they like to tell people.

Oh and Yousefziya, did you know Amanullah Khan prohibited Pashtuns from wearing patkay in Kabul? He forced them to wear English suites and hats when they wanted to enter Kabul.

Some social reform for you there.

THe opposition against Amanullah Khan was primarily from Ghiljay stribes. The massacre at Gandumak, the battle of Maiwand, in all battle fields and ambushes where thousands of British soldiers were massacred the main factor was the role of Ghiljay tribesmen.

Ghilay tribe butchered the British invaders.

And the opposition against Amanullah Khan was because he was a secularist just like Kamal Atta Turk. He wanted to impose secularism on us. And even though Bache Saqaw was a British agent, the opposition against secularism was justified. And the Ghiljay tribe was quite right to oppose Amanullah KHan.

His tribal army of 10.000 Kandahari's who wanted to save his throne were defeated in Ghazni. And that was a good thing they were punished for allying themselves with a secularist.

Inshaa allah the same faith is awaiting those who ally themselves with Karzai.

Kochian will never allow secularism to gain foothold in Afghanistan. Long live the Kochi tribes. The defenders of Afghanistan and the warriors of Islam.

the only period in our recent history when Pashto was the official language and the only official language of Afghanistan was during the Taliban regime.

Yet hte lying secularists and nihilists keep saying religious people are against Pashto language.

Amanullah Khan couldn't even speak Pashto. Kharzai addressed Kabul University students in English on national television. Najibullah Ahmadzai's wife and daughters can't speak a word of Pashto. Babrak Karmal wasn't even a Pashtun. He was a Kashmiri Tajik. The list goes on and on.

To lose the language is to lose the culture. I despise the people who succumb to the english language while dropping their own like it was something harmful. In the name of modernism they lost what is most precious to the Pashtun people, "Oh, the English teacher asked us to speak only english at home so our child can learn english better" *shakes head in dismay* God help these people.

Yeah my cousins that grow up here speaks english at home aswell, my mum and dad always spoke pashto with us, speaking your OWN language at home is important and if you are speaking a preeda language at home then you are preeda to your own culture and people.
