  • Cousin marriage in Iran, nationalism and psychology

Few days ago I was talking to this typical Iranian nationalist guy on YT. The guy is a bigot irrational Arab-hater, 24/7 bashing Islam. One of its most hilarious claims was "Islam is inferior to Zoroastrism because it allows cousin marriage" and inbreeding has damaged Muslim´s IQ except in Iran were people are superior to Muslism because of that.

I debunked his hilarious claim by stating that cousin marriage was a common practice in Iran many centuries before the Islamic arrival. That Zoroastrians even married their own siblings off. This practice was called (and its still called) "xwedodah". For some reason, they guy refuses to believe this and instead prefers to call me "Muzzie terrorist". I believe its cognitive dissonance but who knows.

So my question is.. WHY ARE NATIONALIST PEOPLE SO STUPID?? I have never met a rational and unbiased nationalist. All of them are full of hatred, bigotry and fantasies. Is there some sort of of relation between stupidity and nationalism? Is there any psychological pathology that explains such behaviors?

Lol it’s Aryan culture to marry within the family. So much so that Zoroastrian priests were advocating marriage to one’s mother and daughter as one of the greatest deeds near the end of the Sassanid era.

And you’ll never find a rational nationalist, because nationalism is inherently irrational. Anyone who thinks they’re superior to others based on something no one has any control over is delusional. It’s one thing to be proud of your heritage, but nationalism takes it too far and takes it to the realm of obsession.

Arab hate among Persians is particularly stupid. Persians have been heavily influenced by Semites since as long as we have history. Not to mention the fact that a lot of Persians are probably Persianized Arabs anyway lol.

There are some points I can't really stand about my fellow Iranic nationalist brothers.

        1) They claim to be superior to Arabs because they have an older "civilized" history than semitic people while at the same time they refuse to acknowledge that the early Iranian empires were heavily influenced by Semitic cultures such as Elam, a much older civilization than the Aryan one.

        2) They claim Persian is superior to all Semitic languages but ignore the fact that Aramaic and Elamite were the official languages in the Achaemenid Empire and the lingua franca in the Sassanian Empire.

        3) Islam was imposed on us. BS. Iran (by Iran I mean all Iranian lands, Afghanistan included) became Islamic under the rule of several native Iranian and Persianized Turkic dynasties such as Samanians, Ghorids, Ghaznawids, Tahirids, Saffarids and Seljuks. So once again, its a lie that Iranians became Muslims by force.

        4) Iran was a better place before Islam. Hard to believe. The Iranian society was extremely elitist, where the higher estates oppressed the lower estates. Unlike in Islam, Egalitarianism didn't exist in the ancient Iran.

        5) Islam destroyed Iran. Once again, BS. Iran had already been destroyed by the Romans after being our lands devastated in the last Persian-Roman war.

        6) Iran was a peaceful country before Islam. Makes me laugh hard how people can be so s tupid. I mean Iran was a militaristic empire constantly at war against his neighbors. Parthians and Sassanians waged wars against Rome, India, Turkic tribes and Semitic people for almost 6 centuries!! How peaceful lol

        7) Iranian culture was rich before Islam but was destroyed by Arabs. Probably the dumbest thing ever said. I mean you must be really s tupid to deny the fact that Iranian culture reached his greatest momentum after Islam took over. The greatest Persian minds, the richest Persian dynasties, the most important cultural cities,.. all that happened to be Islamic.

        8) Being Iranian and being Muslim are not compatible. This piss me off beyond repair. I mean, Ferdowsi, Mawlana, Khayyam, Ibn Sina, Faryabi, Razi, Ghazzali, Behzad, Jami, Saadi, Hafez, Rudaki, Beydel, Nasser Khoshrow,.. all these people were Iranians and Muslims. And now all these Westernized Iranian nationalist cockroaches who don't even bother to teach Persian to their children dare to say that those Iranians who are proud to be Muslims are traitors! Joke of the century LOL

        9) Arabs are "sand-ni*gers" haha, come on. Most of Iran is a desert and most of Iranians are brown as hell. Iranians are sand-ni*gers too, then LMAO

What bothers me the most its how even non-nationalist and non-religious videos are turned into racist. Like a year ago it was Shab-e Yalda so I was watching Iranian videos on a FB page. One of those videos it was about an Iranian girl signing a song called "Shabe Yalda" by Esfandyar, and all the comments were pure cancer. "I s-hit on Islam", "death to Arabs", etc. it was hilarious and pathetic at the same time. Ironically I was like that not long time ago lol

Six years ago I was traveling from Mashad to Teheran by train with my dad. I befriended this Iranian guy from Neyshabur who was traveling to Teheran spend Nawruz in there with some friends of him. I asked me to add him on FB. ALL HIS F-UCKING POSTS WERE LIKE "KHODAYA CHEGAD AZ ARAB-A BADOM MIYAD" (Oh my god how hateful Arabs are). This guy HAD NEVER MET AN ARAB. He had never left Iran. He actually lived in the farthest place from an Arab an Persian can live.. but still, he hated Arabs lol!

Cousin marriage was the norm pretty much the world over except in certain parts of India. (South Indians do cousin marriages). It was only within the last 100+ years that the practice fell out of sway in Europe due to some degree of social engineering to discourage it.

Nationalism ..and when I say Nationalism ...I mean hardline nationalism ......is rooted in over compensating for feelings of inferiority. Iranians hate Arabs because Arabs at one time overthrew their empire and completely dismantled their power structure. It's a bruised and wounded ego that drives them.

Arabs hate Persians, because they, believe they're going to re-take what they lost, which is actually kind of true, because Arabs are like knucklehead dumbasses that keep smacking their face into the pole even though it's right in front of them.

[soft nationalism (sense of ethnic self worth, value for heritage etc.) doesn't have this as much]

            is

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

see that part has a lot to do with Iranian Regime's social engineering to perpetuate this confrontational narrative. America does this same thing , especially during the Cold War, producing a bunch of propaganda movies like "Red Dawn" and all that.

nationalism of this variety is for the gullible.

Sometimes i wonder when aryans actually are anything special. I spend some months on this site called "theapricity". Despite that not a lot of people are aryan wannabes/ultra hardcore nationalist aryan(not even the only iranian dude, despite he did had beef with some of the turkish members, but then, 87 percent of the turkish members are kinda faggts though). But as time went on, some indian dude named Fractal appeared. He's ****ing racist and nationalistic as ****. He claimed himself to be pure(LOL) and proper aryan(don't know much about, considered that north west indians are considered aryans along with iranics. Don't ask me, that's just what i have heard at anthroforums). As soon as he felt insulted, that guy would insult the entire ethnic group of the other guy, along with middleeasterns and central asians, while he also mentions from time to time over and over, how indians were the most desired group in America(he lives in America), while the other anthro-members proved otherwise..

The worst part is that he still does the exact same thing to this day. Hell, there are even such cases about tajiks, punjabis, and hell, even pashtuns(but luckily, that's just on the internet).
I think the word "aryan" is really a toxic word. It has more negative influences on some poor guy than good influences, if any. I think iranics and desis should just stick with being desis(punjabis, sindhis, you name it) and iranics with iranics(pahstuns, tajiks, pamiris and so on).

In truth, no, there is nothing special about being Aryan, think of the Aryan peoples that got overran by the Mongols. We mock Mongoloid stock people, but forget that their ancestors demolished most of C.A. India has been conquered by Turks. The cosmos is an ebb and flow of entropy and enthalpy. A wax and wane. A dance between chaos and order. There's a rise & fall to everything. White Europeans/Americans know this and it'ss scaring them ****less because they realize now they're in a wane. One day all of this will be thrown to the oblivion. There will be no Tajiks, No Pashtuns, no Pakistan, no ISI, no ISIS , no FBI, No NATO.......just a few unfortunate souls scouring the Earth, rumaging through the ruins of everything we have now, wondering what the f*ck it all meant?

                      It's all quite meaningless really.

If i didn't live in Denmark and had a ****ton(5-6 pants) of them, i would wear them at least two days a week outside in the public.

Europeans, specially the European monarchies, engaged in massive endogamy. Spain had this king, Charles II, who was nicknamed "El Hechizado" (The Bewitched lol) due to his horrible health issues. The guy was so sick that couldn't even have children. After his death, European kingdoms destroyed each other in the Spanish War of Succession.

By nationalism I mean toxic nationalism. Not patriotism, nor love for your identity country, culture or history. Toxic nationalism is dangerous because its always encouraged at expenses of other people. "I am Persian, and Persian are great because we are better than Arabs". "I am Turk, and Turks are great because we are better than Kurds". "I am Paki, and Pakis are great because we are better than Indians",.. and so on. Thats why nationalism is so dangerous.

Not sure about that, man. I mean Iranians blame their government for being "pro-Arab". Ironically, they don't consider their pedophile Shah to be an Arab-lover although the guy married an Egyptian lady, run to Egypt after the Revolution and Iran had a good relationship with most of Arab countries, KSA included. Weird.
