I oppose it. The fundamental principle of Islam is sovereignty rests with God, including legislative sovereignty. I've never cast a ballot in my life and never willOriginally posted by Firdousi View PostWhats your stance on democracy?[SIZE="4"][FONT="HardTimesW01-Roman"]My Blog

I think the main problem with democracy is that we are always being told how great it is. People downplay or reject all the dark side of democracy which are moral relativism, buffon-populist politicians, majority of people are s tupid and emotional, equality doesn't exist, highly dysfunctional, puts the interest of the individuals over the the collective interests,.. and since elections take place every four to five years, that means governments will always pursuit the short-term politics/measures.Originally posted by Kakar-Wardak View PostHow can a stupid persons vote be the same as that of a wise person?
When people say the West has gone 100% secular I laugh. They do have a God: its called democracy. Dont dare to say something negative about it or you will get stoned to death lol"For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

Thats because slaves now are owned by the state not by other individuals. The Western world lives in bureaucratic dictatorship where the state milks the people since they are born after they are death to sustain an unsustainable system. Democracy is no different than other totalitarian ideologies basically because it promotes also "social atomism".Originally posted by Nekrofrost View PostIts flawed af because when there is a system where the majority have all the authority the minority is ****ed and will most likely also be opressed. Not to forget that with democracy there isnt really much individual liberties
I dont agree regarding the minority part. There is something called the rule of law which protects the rights of everyone, minority included. The rule of the majority can not be above the principle of legality."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

It's better than any current models of theocracy ...but doesn't mean it's great.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

True democracies don't exist because they don't work. Democratic republics aren't true democracies so one has to judge them on their constitution.Originally posted by Firdousi View PostWhats your stance on democracy?
The American constitution is pretty good but many governments have violated it.
