Weddings and parties are not included, except for a few occasions, but overall religious engagements are shared between us as opposed to other Muslims.

Just my observations living in the tri-state area.
You are an Afghan wannabe. Pakistanis are far closer culturally, in fact same as, Indians.

Some stand out more than others. Others don't seem to be as bad and if they are its because they haven't seen hardship.

But many of them have village ruggedness and jahalat to them so they may be unpleasant for urban and civilized folk. Pashtuns in general, and those of ghar in particular are very haughty and not so comely and pleasant in manners. Sit with a Wazir or Mehsud, and their haughty nature will disappoint you. But there are some qualities in these mountain folks which are not found in likeable folk of other nations.

About the thing of looking down on other nations , its ingrained in every rural Pashtun across Pakistan and Afghanistan. Its because of our tribal background. If a Bhittani has a Jat mother , he will be addressed as "that son of a Jat" whenever he will do some thing foul.......and they are biased and prefer to put their trust in their own , some times to the level of stupidity.

Haughty is the word i was looking for.

You might be surprised to know that in South Punjab, we preserve certain customs of Lodhis and Durranis more so than actual Pashtuns from the Northern areas.

And I'm not a wanna be. I am not Afghan, and nor am I a Pashtun. I am a Pakistani Punjabi Arain, from day one. I never claimed to be otherwise.

Trust me, even the closest people to Indians(Pakistani Jats) are not very close to Indians at all. I guess we have our own thing going on.

Urban people are more haughty than rural people especially the ones that have accumulated wealth. The majority of rural people are simple minded and kameen. They don't own much so there is nothing to be haughty for. Most Rural people have more shame than urban people and are much more respectful to elders.
The Wazir and Mehsud that act that way towards you is probably because of the current war playing out in their homes.

But an uneducated person who accumulates much wealth will create a very haughty and ignorant person. Most Afghans have undergone a transformation in the last 16 years of American occupation. the Americans have brought a level of corruption that probably has never been seen in the world. The corrupt system has normalized stealing and backstabbing.

I think I used the wrong word. What I meant to say was traces of culture such as cuisine and architecture . It's hard to explain but If you were to visit the Multan area and met with the Local Pashtuns that settled there from hundreds of years back, you would also notice their influence on the general Saraiki and Punjabi populous.

This is so fascinating. People who are obsessed with catogarixing others are cow piss drinkers, dal eaters and being too dark to be graced with basic dignity; have gathered to talk about how a group of other people are 'racist'.

                  So here is to that:

When people start confiding in you about their racist beliefs, it's because they feel comfortable enough to be racist around you. Especially if it's not the first time they have come across you. And it's very ironic how people in here have such elaborate opinions on this matter because 99.9% of you have been racist towards others in the past. The Hindus are cow piss drinkers, the bengalies are too dark for your liking and Pakistanis, are obsessed with dal. I honestly don't understand where you find the moral grounds to judge others about being racist when you are so racist yourselves but kudos to you all on the lack of self awareness and good luck to where ever you are headed in future with such a level of self righteousness.

Know a few lodhis from multan, nothing about them is pashtun, their apperance, language food everything is punjabi.

Look at that ex isi chief durrani guy looks like a bihari, not a durrani.

A better question is, why are Afghan Pashtuns (we don't care about any of the other morons in that country) unable to tell the difference between an "Indic" Pakistani vs a Pakhtun Pakistani?

They can tell the difference. When they say Pakistani, they're referring to Indics only most of the time. Also, some of them may have contempt for Pak Pashtuns cause we have many brainwashed rabidly anti-Afghan pro-Pakistanis in our ranks.

Beyond that, racism is generally more common with people who have less exposure to other people. Afghans tend to be pretty isolated and uneducated, which naturally leads to more racism.
Racism is a sort of self defence mechanism. Not trying to justify IT. But there is probably a reason why people tend to stick to people similar to themselves (wether its language, culture, race, etc.). Its out of pure self interest/self perservation.

White people lack empathy for brown people, brain research shows. | Restructure!

Nothing wrong with sticking to people who are similar to yourself, but hatred of others based on race is obviously morally wrong.

Afghans aren't anymore racist than others.

Blacks are racist, whites are racist, Arabs are racist, japanese are racist, Indians are racist, etc. the list goes on.

I said that Pak Pashtuns are brainwashed into hating Afghans and loving Pakistan. I never said majority were against Pak, but the opposite? Do you not know how to read?

That's as big of a joke as the Punjab government website claming that smelly dung faced Dravidian Bundjabs are descendants of 'Afghans, Iranians, Turks and Arabs'.
