You can brag about its "recreational" purposes now but in a couple of years from now, you won't have a single tooth in your mouth left. And you all stink. You don't smell it yourself because you are used to it but you stink.

Not pro or against as I have no personal experience but I am willing to listen to both sides of the debate.
I am interested in how hallucenogenics alter the state of the brain in general. I have heard people swear by its benifits and those who say its the starting point to harder drugs.

Regarding opium and heroin; this falls under what I alluded to. There seems to be a threshold on how much and often you use opioids and their adverse effects. Also, using opioids with other substances that counter their harsh effects . Obviously, this is something experienced practitioners know. Not some random junkie. Most traditional or entheogenic uses of opioids are not "main line" i.e. injected. Theyre consumed with teas or used as aromatics like esfand.Originally posted by sterge View PostYou could be right regarding Heroin and opium, but I am not pro head high- at least for myself, I hate to not be in control, since I have high anxiety. THC makes you head high while CBD ( Indica: high CBD) gives you a body high: helps you with pain, and helps fight other issues, THC ( Sativa: high THC ) gives you similar results but you get a head high. It's not even illegal here in the US as in, you can buy CBD oil just like you can buy Tylenol.
Heroin and opium have nasty withdrawal effects, I have never tried it nor will I ever try it for myself. I am not against THC usage as long as you can take it, its just not for me.

This is interesting. Can you elaborate on what you've heard? What do people say about this? Is this something they have to build up to with softer things first? What kind of experience do they describe?Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostRegarding opium and heroin; this falls under what I alluded to. I've read heroin junkies talking about their lives etc. Some of them were productive proper people, and nobody knew they were into heroin. Apparently one guy was a manager of a construction project/company. He had heroin almost everyday, which I find absolutely amazing. It's in Reddit somewhere.
His account is that Heroin is so damn good... it basically gives you a rush like nothing ever. The problem is when the high disappears. You have to come to terms with the fact that real life is nowhere near as awesome as Heroin.
By far the majority of Heroin stories I've heard are very sad stories though. Junkies stealing XYZ just to pawn it off and get a fix. Certainly not very good testimonials, that's for sure.

I'm not talking about recreational drug users; but yeah there are some people who can be functional addicts. This isn't unheard of, but we're not just talking about apparent signs of functioning but health over all. I decry recreational drug user of any form. Any drug use should be under people seasoned and trained to use them or medically prescribed in controlled doses.
my grandfather (dad's father) was an avid taryak (opium) smoker, it was his arthritis medication, around this time he definitely revealed more of his Sufi tendencies...he became very mystically inclined and meditative .....which seems to correlate with the entheogenic properties of opiates.

LOL promoting DRUGS. Zeba, you go to a mullah when you get sick? Going by your logic all Pharmacies should be banned since they sell Drugs.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View PostAbout weed?? Yeah. **** off.
And stop promoting drugs.
If your kids get sick which they will cos thats how they gain immunity, you better not go to Pharmacies and Hospitals looking for a cure which is basically DRUGS(many are based on Opium).
