Truth; there are more "Desi" Sayyids, than Sayyids in the Middle East LOLOriginally posted by Aryana View PostSlaves of "Arabis"? Do you know how desis desperately try to claim to be descendants of Arabs?
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

A lot of punjabi claim to arab descent, despite watching Indian movies and following everything Indian

Not punjabis but people living in punjab province, there is difference. Any ullo ka patha can live in punjab and claim anything he want. There is huge population of Baloch in punjab province, since you don't know much about Pakistan so for outsiders it will seem like punjabis are claiming to be Baloch.Originally posted by Karachi View PostA lot of punjabi claim to arab descent, despite watching Indian movies and following everything Indian
They can claim to be anything who cares but when I look at north/central punjab parliament 99% of them are jatts, rajputs, gujjars, arains all indigenous and they are not majority overall. South punjab parliamentarians have some syeds, baloch and even punjabi settlers from upper punjab.
It shows unlike your ganga land those who claim ashraf origins in north/central punjab are not influential. Maybe we will see more fake ansaris once seats distribution is in favor of big cities where most of these muhajirs live. Remember many muhajirs migrated to cities like Lahore and no muhajir claim indigenous origin despite looking like a typical chuhra dalit from UP/bihar. Even you "proud" Indian proudly claimed to be son of pathan from Swat born in UP.Last edited by Silver; 09-03-2016, 02:37 PM.

muhajirs come in many different types and different parts of India, just like any other people, some have real claim, but yes majority do not. and if you come to defense/clifton area of Karachi, you can see how the elite muhajirs look, very different from Altaf Hussain lolOriginally posted by Silver View PostNot punjabis but people living in punjab province, there is difference. Elite muhajirs in defence, clifton lol Maybe 1% of muhajir claim is true. 99% of muhajirs come from bhuka nanga background of dalit shuhdras of UP/Bihar. They occupied only port city of Pakistan. In India UP/Biharis work like slaves in punjab while in Pakistan they rule Karachi. Defense/clifton isn't area of elite muhajirs, but elite Pakis in general. Do you think there is difference between ansari muhajir and dalit muhajir in Karachi? No! The so called rich muhajirs are Memons from Gujarat lolOriginally posted by Karachi View Postmuhajirs come in many different types and different parts of India, just like any other people, some have real claim, but yes majority do not. and if you come to defense/clifton area of Karachi, you can see how the elite muhajirs look, very different from Altaf Hussain lolLast edited by Silver; 09-03-2016, 03:09 PM.

A lot of tv actors and media people are muhajirs, you do know that right. and no, the bhuka nunga people did not migrate, it was people with money who migrated, get your history right, of course they lost their money when they came to Pakistan, but that is a different story, a lot of muhajirs were from middle/upper middle class familiesOriginally posted by Silver View PostElite muhajirs in defence, clifton lol Maybe 1% of muhajir claim is true. 99% of muhajirs come from bhuka nanga background of dalit shuhdras of UP/Bihar. This is biggest myth ever, they became middle class in karachi. One can just look at situation of muslims of India in general and especially in UP/Bihar to know their auqaat. Make no mistake 1% were elite ashraf muslims, rest dalit shuhdras. If anything people with properties, land are less likely to migrate, its not like there was genocide going in UP/Bihar like it was the case in east punjab. Muslims still make 20% of UP/Bihar population, not much difference then before.Originally posted by Karachi View PostA lot of tv actors and media people are muhajirs, you do know that right. and no, the bhuka nunga people did not migrate, it was people with money who migrated, get your history right, of course they lost their money when they came to Pakistan, but that is a different story, a lot of muhajirs were from middle/upper middle class families
You don't need to be rich to buy train ticket to Karachi, don't make me laugh.

You must be an Idiot, I know the history of my family and many many other muhajir families, and none of them are so called ashraf muslims. Muhajirs of all backgrounds, espeically the richer muslims migrated to Pakistan, in thinking it was a dream land, yet it actually turned out to hell for themOriginally posted by Silver View PostThis is biggest myth ever, they became middle class in karachi. Also just look at these list of famous muhajirs and please tell me how many look like dalits: List of Muhajir people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
they all came from educated backgrounds, this is why Muhajirs are known as the most educated people in Pakistan

I come from the city/region where Urdu Language was invented, because of my lack of knowledge at that time, I thought it was Pashtuns who settled there, but after researching and reading books about that region, I came to the conclusion it was most likely Dari speaking Tajiks who settled and who had the most influence in India, not Pashtuns. The thing in India is, most Afghans are viewed as Pashtuns/Pathans for some reason, most Indians dont even know about the existence of Dari speaking Afghans, thats why there is so much confusion. Even actors like Salman Khan, Firoz Khan, Aamir Khan are actually of Tajik descent not Pashtun
As an Indian, your problem is you can't simply be proud to be Indian (as you are trying to claim), now You want to be a Tajik since you got disappointed in Pashtuns...
hmmm this rapidly changing ethnic background!!!What is next on your list, Iranian heritage?? Or Bosnian?"The past is not my concern. The future is no longer my concern either. One minute. One minute of everything at once. And anything before is nothing. Everything after nothing. Nothing in comparison to that one minute."
