As you yourself admit you speak a very Urdu influenced Pashto, Because your approach is definitely not how normal Pashto speakers say things. Pa Khair Raghley in Afghanistan.

One can say "pa khair", to the one saying hello, salam, salamuna to himOriginally posted by marwat View Postwhen you meet someone on street the most appropriate greetings are
stari mashe
salam
charange (our dialect) or sanga ye ( peshawari dialect) or changre ( waziri dialect) , or sanga yast ( helmand dialect) means how are you?
'pa kher raghla or raghlam' means I am coming well
'pa kher raghlu' means we are coming well
they are not inline with the Pashto essence hence not used

In his arrogance, @marwat decided to go after your grammer.......now that you are demanding explainations from proper grammer point of view, he is dumbfounded and his stance "being native speaker, i dont need grammer" is not helping very much.Originally posted by Brown Skinned Savage View PostNo offense but this is absolute nonsense, I know for a fact your grammar is wrong, and I say this even though I often make grammar mistakes as well. But my grammar mistakes are more out of negligence than lack of knowledge. But you're using the WRONG conjugation and it means something else.
"Taso stari maso" , Attaching "waw" to the ends of verb roots like "ratl" and "Swal" is First person Plural. Technically "Starray Masey" is not grammatically correct, because 'Ma" is a Negative Imperative, but it's become so accepted that no one cares now.
Pa Khair Raghlo means "We are coming well" , this does not make sense in the context of a greeting I've never heard the way you phrase things used the way you use them here Whether abroad or in the Watan. I sense you either don't speak it regularly, or your dialect is really bizarre and doesn't follow standard Pashto.
The thing is , Pashto grammer is taught in schools of Afghanistan but thats not the case in Lakki Marwat, e.g i am clueless about the grammar and other fine details, our teacher in primary school didnt teach it and i think same might be the case with @marwat. Marwati, Waziri, Bannuchi etc are very weird dialects and do not follow the normal standards and grammar of Pashto of yousafzai, Jalalabad or kandahar. For example we dont even use "zama", we say "ma". we say "Ya" instead of "yam or yama".
One must have good command over the subject as well as not making mistakes while in attempt of correcting mistakes. For example he is saying that Waziris say "Charanga ye", thats incorrect, they say "saranga ye"......and he is ignoring standard Pashto and unconsciously blurted out "masay" of his dialect instead of "mashay"...Last edited by Samandri; 09-01-2015, 03:42 AM.

i did not write charange i write chang-re. i have seen mehsud saying this too much times. isn't waziri and mehsud dialect same?Originally posted by History of PashtunsIn my opinion "salam/salamuna" would suffice for saying hello on online forum, saying "starray mashay" or "starri masho" would be appropriate for live person to person interaction, its not a proper greeting term for online interaction, or trend of its usage is not established.
Wazirs do not say charanga, Its unique to marwats, they say "saranga ye"

my response was to his 'pa kher raghlo' greeting which is incorrect for a guest to greet the host. infact he will look stupid if he greet someone like this.Originally posted by History of Pashtuns View PostIn his arrogance, @marwat decided to go after your grammer.......now that you are demanding explainations from proper grammer point of view, he is dumbfounded and his stance "being native speaker, i dont need grammer" is not helping very much.

I'm not here to rag on Marwat, I don't claim I'm a Pashto linguist or grammatician, but there are somethings I know are correct because when I was a kid people used to correct me when I said them.
the stuff about "negative imperative", that's me transferring terms I learned elsewhere which apply in Pashto. I never formally studied Pashto. But Pa Khair Raghley is a standard Pashto greeting, this much I know.Last edited by Brown Skinned Savage; 09-01-2015, 07:59 AM.

Oh god! I just went offline for a few days and now there's a quarrel about Afghan grammar, well...I don't care...
Why obvious? What can I avail oneself of that? Why the fact that I like I like Pashtuns and Afghanistan isn't enough? I really like Afghan singers like Laila Khan, Sadiq Apridey, Zaman Zahir, Usman Bangash & more....Originally posted by Afghanfootball View PostIt's obvious he is a troll.
Because you don't choose what to like and it just happens?Originally posted by Khostai View PostI think he pretending, I don't think he is even romanian. Why in the hell a romanian would ben interested in Afghanistan?
I see, and what about studying Islam in Kabul University?Originally posted by Khostai View PostWe already have enough unqualified labour, I advise you to stick to your own country what ever that might be.

pardon me marwat wrora, seems like there is a misunderstanding.Originally posted by History of PashtunsKiliwala, he said those list of words are used for greeting....greeting means "give a polite word of recognition or sign of welcome when meeting (someone)", so pa khair raghlay is greeting irrespective of host or guest factor.
Do you even realize your and our "teet taak" is urdu-ish and Afghans actually make fun of it. In Urdu they say "baal kudairna" or in pashto, "ghulo che lashta walan", you were doing that.
look BSS reply to Valujira
I never said 'pa khair raghley' is not a greeting, I said it's not a suitable greeting here which BSS is suggesting to ahlan.Firstly ahlan is probably not the proper greeting you should use. It's an Arabic greeting primarily used by Levantine peoples
Sha Charrai
Starray Masey
Salamoona
Pa Khair Raghley
Sha Raghley
would be more sufficient
let you decide can Vaujira use 'pa kher raghley' greeting here instead of ahlan?
it's not a 'ghulo che large' I want him to learn a proper greeting

Yes mehsud dialect is the closest to waziri but some of the words they use are different.if we exclude the accent than dawari pashto is the closest to wazirwola"Seer Speen Wazeer"
